This is what I get. This is what I get for wanting to go to school in California.

After begging my mother since the beginning of summer to let me go to highschool in California for my Senior ywar, she finally caved. I litterally was jumping up and down with excitement. After a few minutes of bouncing I finally asked her "when are we moving?!" I had a huge toothy grin plastered on my face.

My mother gave me an evil smirk and said "WE aren't moving, YOU and Jordan are moving to Los Angeles and you will live with Aunt Cathy." She said with no emotion to her face, that was my mother; her face was impossible to read. It took me a minute for her words to finally click in my head. "What?!?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as my jaw dropped to he floor.

"You heard me loud and clear little miss." my mother smirked, obviously enjoying my reaction. "Okay 3 things. one, why aren't you and dad coming? Two why the hell is Jordan coming? and finally three, why Aunt Cathy?" My mother laughed a little "one, We want to stay here in Arizona. Two, Once Jordan found out we were letting you go he insisted we let him start his freshamn year there too. Three, you two can't live on your own. You two would burn down an apartment trying to make cold cereal." I tilted my head back and groaned.

"So I take it you told her" Said Jordan calmly as he came down the stairs with a piece of cold pizza in his hand. "Is that my last piece of pepperoni pizza?!" I shouted at him. "In a way...Ya see, it was yours...but I decided I wanted it...so now it's mine." Jordan announced shrugging his shoulders. I growled at him and decided to let it go. He was bigger than me even though he was younger and could easily beat me to a pulp if he wanted to, not that he would.

My mother piped up and said "So you two will go out to L.A. next week...Jordan has already started packing since we alked to him about this yesterday." I grumbled mom went on talking, ignoring my annoyance.

I had been dreaming about the day I moved to the city, and now that the day was approaching, I was scared to death.

Later that evening after dinner while I was upstairs packing my favorite tops, shorts, and jeans into a large suitcase, I stopped to think about my Aunt Cathy. I hadn't seen her for a few years. She wasn't really my aunt, but my moms best friend since they were in grade school.

She had a soft, nice face and big brown eyes that were so caring and sweet you wanted to open you whole heart up to her. She had long dirty blonde hair that was kind of wavy, but looked super pretty when straightened. She really was nice, maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

Mom had told Jordan and I that when she talked on the phone with Cathy that she brought up the 'me wanting to move to California' thing and Cathy jumped right in and said that I should come stay with her and her family. Then she piped up and said that it wouldn't be fair for me to go and not Jordan.

So I guess that's how Jordan ended up getting involved.

I started to think about Cathy's family. I dropped the sparkly silver top I was holding as I started to remember Aunt Cathy's kids.

Sweet mother of pearl.
