I hugged Merle as soon as I was awake. I didn't care that I was somewhere else, I didn't care that we immediately got on a ship similar to the one that got us in this mess, and I didn't care that all I would get to eat were crackers the whole trip. I was with my Dog-man, my arm was back to normal, no more cage, and no more pellets.

I must've grinned the whole way. Half of the people on the plane were dog-men like Merle, and they kept cooing at me and making faces. The other half were aliens, who seemed scared of me, but I didn't let them get to me. I had Merle looking out for me again, and I was going home. I'd get to meet our new family, and I'd never leave Merle again.
