 Part Eight

After a hearty breakfast, Seher, Sanam and Aahil discussed the plan.

" Aapa, Jjju will introduce you as the official Begum of Bhopal during this news conference. Shashi Kapoor will get the whiff of this and try to cause an issue. However this will be a diversion so Major Khan can catch her," Seher declared.

Aahil and Sanam exchanged looks.

" So you are saying we will use Shaad to get Shashi Kapoor captured so we can save Bhopal from harm?," Sanam asked.

" Exactly but we need this diversion," Seher insisted.

" True but how exactly will we get her captured by Major Khan? He isn't exactly a friend that will come back from Pakistan to come here to capture a criminal because she is planning against our hometown," Aahil quipped.

He had also grimaced when Sanam had uttered that man's name. He was assured his wife loved him, memory or no memory of their past.

" Jiju I was able to stop him at the airport. I made a deal with him and maybe I guilt tripped him into not going back to Pakistan until he captures Shashi Kapoor." Seher stated.

"Oh I see what else do you have in mind Seher? Shashi Kapoor will approach us and then Major Khan will capture her so easily? We should have security. I do not trust this is a job just for one man. She has been eluding custody after each of her crimes," Aahil stated.

" Yes she has. She has killed so many and caused so many dangerous situations. I tried to save Major Khan's family but even with combined efforts we lost them," Sanam said solemnly.

Aahil put a hand on her shoulder. She was feeling guilt over something she had no part in. She had not even known Shaad wasn't her husband back then. Her trust had been greatly violated.

" Aapa don't worry. We will wear the same outfits. That way Shashi Kapoor will get confused as to who the real Begum is. We will inform Inspector Ali to have his men there as well," Seher assured her twin.

" Theek hai. But I don't want you to risk your life because of me. I feel this is not the first time you have tried this," Sanam said listlessly.

Now it was the turn of Seher and Aahil to exchange looks. They hoped Sanam would not remember that aspect of the past and back out of the plan to allow Seher to be involved.

" Why don't you two lovebirds go for a nice boat ride? I am going to take a nap," Seher said suddenly to break the sadness in the room.

Sanam eyed her sister carefully.

" I will leave you something to eat. Let me ready the other bedroom for you," Sanam stated.

After Sanam left, Seher turned to Aahil.

" Now Nawab Saab you better use this opportunity to distract my sister. The more calm we are , the better we can handle this crazy stepsister of yours," she chimed.

"Don't worry Seher. I will make sure Sanam is ready for this press conference. Go ahead and stay with her as I make a few calls," Aahil replied.

Seher scrambled to go find her sister. She arrived in the room and took off her burkha. She wore an off shoulder top and jeans.

Oh right

Sanam rolled her eyes at her sister.

" Has Aahil ever mistaken you for me?," Sanam asked suddenly.

Seher paused. She wasn't sure how much her sister remembered but guessed she could share the kheer story.

" Actually one time I was in the kitchen at Ibrahim mansion. You had made some really nice kheer. I started eating it and Jiju caught me," Seher stated.

Sanam laughed.

" So what did he say?"

" It was kind of funny. He didn't scold me for eating the kheer but for my clothes. I think I was wearing something similar like this," Seher quipped.

The girls shared a laugh.

" Was he really strict in our early days of marriage? Now he seems more mellowed," Sanam stated.

Seher paused to consider the encounters she had with Aahil since the first time she met him. Yes he had indeed calmed down since Tanveer's death.

" Yes aapa jiju has changed for the better since that Tanveer's death," Seher declared.

" I guess you are right. But you know since I came back home, he has been so patient. I am starting to feel like his wife again," Sanam declared.

Seher put an assuring arm around Sanam's shoulders.

" Aapa you will remember everything soon and if not we will make new memories again! Now look at the time! Jiju probably has made the afternoon itinerary by now. You should go get ready now!," Seher declared.

Sanam smiled at her sister and gave her hug.

" I love you so much Seher. Are you sure you will be all right alone here?," she asked.

" I will be fine. After all I am Seher Ahmed Khan. If I can find you here, I can surely take care of myself!," she declared.

Seher shooed her twin off.

She hoped her sister and Aahil could be a normal couple again. They had endured so much already. She felt responsible for much of it and she was ready to keep risking her life if it meant they could be happy together.

They arrived at the dock.

Sanam was amazed at her surroundings. This area of Bhojpur did not feel familiar.

" Have we been here before?," Sanam asked as Aahil offered his hand to help her into the boat.

"No last time we only had a short time here. I must say Seher had a good idea sending us out here today," Aahil stated.

Sanam smiled fondly at him.

" Yes I just wish I could remember our childhood," Sanam said.

Aahil wasn't sure how much time she and Seher had before they had been separated as children. He just didn't want his wife to fret too much and enjoy the view.

" Sanam you have such a great view to look at and a nice Nawab to row you around this lake, and you my lovely biwi are repenting of what you don't have," he quipped.

Sanam laughed. She had the urge to embrace him and never let him go.

" You are more than nice," she said with a blush.

Aahil gleamed with this attention.

She peered around to see if anyone was looking in their direction.

She stood up and edged closer to him. Suddenly she lost her balance and landed in his lap.

She yelped and then their eyes locked.

" Guess someone wants a replay from this morning," he whispered huskily.

She tried to move back but he held her close and leaned in to kiss her lips.
