Max's P.O.V.

I followed behind Alyx as she started walking in the direction of the park, God she was so beautiful. I just wish I could tell her how I felt... That was my other reason for calming down around her, because I'm in love with her, that's why I hate to see her have panic attacks and cry. And I don't want to be the reason she goes through that, she goes through it enough as is. I don't want to add on anymore shit, she doesn't need it. Suddenly, there was a wild Faeryn smacking me in the face. "What are you thinking about there, lover boy?" She asked falling in to step with me. "Nothing..." I replied, slightly trailing off. "Whatever you say..." She said, skipping off to catch up with the other girls.

We got to the park and I rushed to claim my spot in my "shell", which was really just the awning thing at the top of the twisty slide. I settled in and got comfy. We'd probably be here for awhile. I pulled out my phone, and pulled up my list of songs. " I am now taking song requests! But that doesn't necessarily mean I will play what you want!" I yelled so the others would hear me over their laughing. "How about our song, baby? You know, Wonderwall by Oasis!" I heard Max call out. I just laughed, it seemed he was always making jokes like that, like we were a couple. It was actually kinda cute. However, it was not cute enough for me to actually play it at first request, mwahahahaha! Instead, I decided to start off our jam session with Heathens by The Linden Method. I saw Evander coming around the corner opposite of the one we had just come around to get here. I waved, and received a small nod in return. After Max saw me wave, he followed my gaze and saw Evander walking towards us. He took off towards Evander, Evander doing the same. Both ready to roughhouse. Lyn, Faeryn, and I all looked at each other and just rolled our eyes with a smile.

After a brief session of horsing around with Evander, I looked over towards the top of the twisty slide, where Alyx had claimed her spot in her shell, and Faeryn and Adalyn sat around her. They all had their heads thrown back, laughing uncontrollably, almost to the point they weren't even making noise. "Man, you've got it bad, don't you?" I heard Evander say from behind me. "I don't know what you're talking about." I responded, trying not to let him know about my feelings for Alyx. "Bro, we've been best friends long enough that I know just about every look you give, and that's one I've only ever seen you show when it comes to Alyx. Whether it's talking about her, or to her, or looking at her. You didn't even show that look when it came to Aspen. You love Alyx, I know it, you know it, so why not just tell her? You're not going to be able to hide it forever." At this point we were sitting down in the grass by the tennis courts. Me pondering what he said, wanting to thoroughly process his words before responding. I honestly never knew my face was so expressive, or at least never knew it was expressive enough for others to pick up on like that. Just as I was about to respond, my phone started ringing. I pulled it out, the screen read Aspen. I audibly sighed, Evander peaked at the screen to see who was calling. "Don't answer it, man. Just enjoy being here and hanging out with everyone. You know if you answer she's just going to keep you on the phone forever and end up pissing you off." I knew he was right, so I just hit the volume down button to mute the ringer and put my phone back in my pocket, looking back at him to finish our conversation. He made a valid point, and he was so certain when he spoke that I knew I couldn't try to fib my way out of it. So, I might as well just have an honest conversation with him about it. He's just about the only one I would be able to talk to about it, anyway. Just as I was about to open my mouth to talk, Faeryn came over, pulling Evander up and requesting he dance with her immediately. Lyn soon followed, pulling me up and dragging me towards a mortified looking Alyx. Why does she look so scared?
