One month later, Ace is now 16 (Present time)
Koda, Isaac, and Saeth are the only people Ace knows to trust. Eida was her mother's most trusted maid and friend, but not Ace's. She would always be cautious around her when she was younger and tell her little about her day. Even now, being a month after her mother's death, Ace didn't share any assumptions of who the murderer was to Eida. Only her three friends who are also her butlers would listen to her concerns. Overall, Ace is a professional at keeping her thoughts to herself and only shares when she sees the need to.
With this, Koda, Isaac, and Saeth walked into the dimly lighted chamber room. They were prepared for Ace's request being the information that they gathered during the month, searching for any leads on the identity of the murderer.
The place where Queen Leona (Ace's mother)was murdered looked clear. The three of them had to do very thorough analyzing to even try to find any footprints or broken branches. The Queen's body was already removed and buried on a mountain that overlooked sunsets. Before they buried the queen, Ace had to examine her body to see if there were any cuts or bruises, but she found nothing. She didn't want to keep her mother's body out, since she couldn't stand the fact that she was gone so they buried her and surrounded her with flowers. It seems that whoever did this made sure that there would be no traces of them and cleaned the scene.
Until a few days ago...
(Flashback)
Isaac saw what appeared to be gold that was half buried in the ground almost covered by a thin pile of twigs and dead leaves. "How did we not see this? We've been here everyday for almost a month gathering anything we could find and something like this was here the whole time?!" However, Isaac realized how far he went away from the murder scene. Eida had stated where the queen had died and brought them to the area. So why did he find something that can be so crucial in the investigation so far away from the scene? Was Eida in on it? Did this even have a connection to what happened?
Millions of questions were forming in Isaac's head as he dug up what he thought was just a piece of gold. "Wait a sec...oh no." Isaac's mouth parted as he was surprised at what he just found.
"Where the hell is that idiot, he wandered off too far again!" Koda was getting annoyed at Isaac's actions. They all knew each other ever since they were young. Isaac had a habit of disappearing on his own without letting anyone know. "Maybe he found a clue that led him somewhere else." Saeth said walking up to Koda. "Bastard never tells us where he goes off to and just expects us not to worry."
"Calm down, what are you his big brother?." Saeth looked at Koda with smirk. "If I was his brother-hell, even related to him in any other way that would just be a curse." Koda frowned at Saeth crossing his arms while rolling his neck. They've been outside investigating the area for hours now with no break. Of course, they could take one, but a situation like this there's no way in hell they'd ever. Queen Leona was a kind hearted woman that took them in when she saw they had no one. She gave them endless love and care and instantly introduced Ace to them who was five at the time while Isaac was six, Saeth was six almost seven, and Koda was seven. Hearing that she was murdered made their hearts stop. Straightaway they demanded to know where Ace was and was informed that she didn't want to see anybody that whole day.
Saeth and Koda were both remembering that awful day when they were snapped back into reality with Isaac screaming their names. "Koda! Saeth! Yo! I found something!" Isaac ran over to them and was greeted with a punch to the top of his head by Saeth. "Are you really this stupid?! Don't scream our names and tell us you have something, there could be a listener out here!" Saeth was managing keeping his voice low enough that no one besides those two could hear him, and also showed by the tone of his voice how annoyed and pissed he was. "Ow! Damn my bad." Isaac was rubbing his head. "What did you find." Koda said stepping closer to Isaac. It sounded more like a demand than a question. Saeth and Isaac fixed their posture Isaac clearing his throat. " It's a golden horse emblem." He said in a serious tone as he showed them his findings. The three of them looked at the emblem, then at each other.
"Let's not jump to conclusions too quickly." Koda said sighing, closing his eyes. "What? Koda, we obviously have great evidence to who did this. Why not just tell Ace and head off to them? I mean, yeah it's only one thing but this emblem is more than enough to bring this disgusting creature to light." Saeth looked at him wide eyed.
"We don't know if this was planted by someone else or how long it's been here. Let's tell Ace and see what she wants to do." Koda looked at Saeth signaling that his decision was made. Saeth looked away, he always struggled with keeping long eye contact with Koda.
Koda and Ace had similar eyes that made anyone tremble before them. When Koda gave you a serious look with eyes that stabbed your soul like daggers, you knew that you lost the argument. This also caused trouble when on rare, VERY rare occasions where Koda would go against Ace's decisions. It was like two predators going after each other, with Ace always winning at the end. She was at the top and no one could ever knock her down.
(End of Flashback)
"I hope you guys have something for me to look at. Judging by the looks on your faces I suppose the murderer is someone who we all know." Ace darted her eyes from her book to Koda who was taking a seat in one of the four chairs that surrounded the dark oak table. "We do have some information for you, but I don't think you're gonna like what we found." Koda opened his right hand, which summoned a black floating sphere that unwrapped itself. The golden horse emblem was revealed and Ace's eyes immediately narrowed at it. All four of them knew who the emblem belonged to.
To be continued...
A bit more information about our three characters...
Koda: He is serious, intimidating, confident, strong, strategic, and can be cold-hearted when he needs to be. He comes off when you first meet him as someone who you don't want to mess with and get on his bad side, which is 100% true, because he does not hesitate to kill. He will do anything for Ace and usually likes to go toe to toe with her when they are together. Koda has powers that are out of the ordinary in their world. He can summon black shadows that can take the form of whatever he desires and can consume his enemy making them see nothing but black. However, he hides more than what he shows with his powers.
Physical appearance...
Koda is muscular, olive skin, black hair, greenish-blue eyes, and he is 6ft.
Saeth: He is usually the calmest out of the bunch, very charming, manipulative, and can have any person he meets instantly trust him. He is a very skilled ranger and can take down enemies with a single arrow. Not only is he good with long distance combat, but he carries two swords with him and can defeat opponents in up close combat as well.
Physical appearance...
Saeth is toned, has fair skin, blond hair, blue eyes, and is 5'11.
Isaac: Isaac can be annoying at times, but is overall the kindest person out of the group. He is laid-back and can get serious and terrifying when his friends are in danger. Don't doubt him for his kind nature, because if you hurt his friends in anyway he will make sure you will feel pain 100x as worse. Isaac uses ice when he fights and can summon large amounts of it to use for an offense attack or defense. If the ice pierces your skin he can maneuver it to your bloodstream and freeze you from the inside out.
Physical appearance...
Isaac is muscular, tanned skin, dark brown hair, light brown eyes, and he is 5'10.
