I was sitting in the dark alley, ankles and wrists tied up to a chair with rope. I couldn't exactly remember what had happened, but as I sat there, in the dark, the memories started flashing back to me in little pieces. After about four full hours of nothing but stress and pain, I finally remembered everything. And I couldn't believe what I had done. How could I have been so selfish? I should've just ended it. But he was just so perfect, and different, and truly amazing. I had to have him. But look where that got me.
The blood from my hands was dripping on the ground, and I couldn't do anything about it. I kept repeating the same thought in my head. I am gonna die. I am gonna die. Lord please save me. I am gonna die.
So this all started the day of my eighteenth birthday. I woke up at 6:00 and changed into an adorable daisy crop top, with white high wasted shorts, and topped it all off with my white high top converse. As for my hair, I straightened it, and put a flower crown in my hair, that matched the daisies on my top. Then I headed for the bathroom, where I put on a light coat of foundation, powder, and mascara.
Since it was my birthday, and let's not forget, THE LAST DAY OF MY SENIOR YEAR, my mom made me a delicious breakfast which was bacon, eggs, sausage, and coffee. When I finished breakfast, my best friend Lilly had arrived at my house to give me a ride to school. Lilly and I have been through everything together. We met when we were in 4th grade and have been best friends ever since. Lilly is definitely the most gorgeous girl I have ever met and all the boys are after her, yet she's never had a serious relationship before. She kindof just springs off of one boy, to the next. One day she will meet a new guy, hook up with him, and the next day never see or talk to him again. But despite all of her boy springing, she's an amazing friend and I would do anything for her.
I headed outside with my black and pink book bag wrapped around one shoulder, and headed for her car.
"Happy Birthday, Bria!!!!" She shouted at me. "Are you excited for your VERY LAST DAY OF YOUR SENIOR YEAR?!"
"Yeah, I guess. I just wanna get this over with so I can get home and finish watching The Vampire Diaries." I say, as I open the door to her car, and hop in.
"Bria, this is your very last day of high school, and all your worried about is watching The Vampire Diaries?!" She says, with a disgusted look on her face.
I nod my head.
"ME TOO GIRL! I hear something happens to Damon on tonight's episode."
"Well we just have to get through today and see!" I say.
We finally reach the school parking lot and Lilly and I get out of the car and walk over to the school doors.
"So are you having a party tonight?" Lilly asks me.
"No" I said, as I opened the door to the school. And the truth is, I really wanted a party. I just didn't plan one because I had figured nobody would show up since Ashli Spencer was having her graduation party the same day, and I knew I couldn't compete with Ashli. It's not that I have anything against her, but she's pretty much the most popular girl in our school. I've never talked to her before, but she seems nice and I just wouldn't want to take any chances of having a party where only one person shows up-My best friend.
So, I was planning on relaxing at home, with popcorn and getting caught up on TVD before that nights episode.
I said goodbye to Lilly, as I headed for my first period class. Pretty much, the whole day was us just sitting on our desks and talking to our friends, since it's not like we had anything else to do on the last day of school. When the final bell rang I jumped out of my seat and headed straight for the school doors, when I finally realized what just had happened. All my life I had been waiting for this moment. The moment when I would finally be done with school and head out the door with pride. And I was wasting it. It felt like any other ordinary day. So I decided to wait a second. I turned around, other people rushing out the door cheering "schools out!!!" As I took a look around the school. I looked at old photos hanging throughout the hallway, bringing back memories. I smiled at one picture of my ex boyfriend and I making out behind the bleachers at a football game. I was a little confused as to why the principle put that photo in the hallway, but I didn't mind.
Once I finally took in the moment, I headed out the school doors and whispered to myself, "schools out."
I waited by Lilly's car, and when she finally got there she smiled at me and said, "ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE VAMPIRE DIARIES!"
I laughed at her, and we both got in the car and headed home. Lilly had stayed over since it was a Friday and she always stayed the night every Friday. At about 7:00 I heard a knock on the door. I opened it up, and about 50 people from school shouted "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIA!!!" and headed inside my house.
"What is this?" I asked, smiling.
"Your surprise party! You didn't think we would go to Ashli's graduation party, when it's your birthday, did you?!" Lilly said.
"Thanks so much guys. I love you!" I shouted so everyone could hear me, and my eyes started to tear up.
"Don't cry!!! Let's PARTY!!!" my friend, Amanda, from my French class shouted.
The whole night was a blast. We had a pizza eating contest, body shots, dance party, truth or dare, spin the bottle, and we jumped in my pool. It was definitely the best night of my life and the cool thing was, my mom was on board with the whole thing! Even the under age drinking! She just made sure none of us got drunk since they would be driving home.
At about 11:00, we all gathered outside, and my mom held a microphone and said, "I'm so proud of everyone for graduating this year, and I'm proud of my daughter for actually making it to eighteen. So in honor of her accomplishment I bought her a ticket to Los Angeles, CA for the whole entire summer with a friend, before she heads off to Stanford for college."
I jumped up and screamed "OMG THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH MOM I LOVE YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!"
Everyone cheered and continued partying until 2:00 in the morning when my mom got a call from the neighbors saying we were disturbing them. So the party ended and everyone went home, but we all had a blast. Lilly and I went up to my room and got ready for bed, because my mom had said that she would clean up.
"So who are you taking with you to California?" Lilly asked.
I have a chuckle and said "oh, I was thinking Ashli Spencer because she's my best friend and stuff."
Lilly laughed. "No, really. Who are you taking?"
"Well you of course! As long as your parents are okay with it!" I said.
"They are. When I found out about the trip sort of figured you would take me and I texted my parents and they said yes!" She replied.
"Great! We are gonna have so much fun! My mom said that we leave in 2 days!" I said.
And I just had a feeling, that night, that something out of the ordinary, and special was going to happen in California.
