Toffee's POV
It was all a mistake wasn't it? Two weeks ago I had lost myself and offered Carla my knowledge on magic. It was uncalled for and it wasn't how I usually go about things.
Now I'm sitting in her living room watching her attempt a spell. Each week I stop by and I tell no one.
"Where have you been?"
"I needed to gather information for our new calculations."
"That doesn't explain why you had to leave camp."
"Shut up and get back to work." I usually say coldly to get them off my back.
Carla fails her attempt and frowns, "It's gonna take a while." I simply say.
"I got a letter from them today." Carla says suddenly staring off into space. Is this why she seems so unfocused?
"Them?"
"Royals."
I pause I'm not surprised it was bound to happen yet a normal person would never think such a thing was possible.
"They asked for the tapestry didn't they,"
Her facial expression darkened, Carla seemed like she wanted to scream.
"What's worse is that it's a family portrait!" She exclaimed finally unwinding her rant.
"AND it's about to be princess Moon's Birthday!" She buries her face in her knees curling up into a ball. I Scoffed in annoyance, not at Carla but at the royals, did they not think about how this would effect someone such as Carla.
"Toffee.." She says quietly, she does this when she is scared to ask something and she doesn't want to end up saying something wrong.
"..I need to master this speed spell, now." Carla looked like she hasn't slept in days. This spell it the only one she has been constantly practicing for days. I sigh, I had things to do and didn't want to waste time, but her getting into this castle was crucial to my plans. Rasticore is gonna hate me for leaving him in charge for this long....
"Fine lets see what progress we can make." I say with a sigh, "Really?!Thank you! I swear I'll be able to do this!" Carla claims this but I can tell she doubts she can even do a simple levatato spell.

Carla's POV
A few days ago Starting by mid-day Toffee taught me how to be able to call out my magic, I successfully created a light purple aura. Though I didn't know how to do anything with it.
"Your not concentrating enough." Toffee says, I can't do this, I'm trying so hard to focus on spreading the aura around me instead of just my hands. Toffee sighed, he was getting annoyed by me, or that's what I would assume. He probably had so many things to do, and I'm keeping him from it.
The second I thought about this the aura went away, I muttered underneath my breath.
We tried again hour after hour, I could now spread the aura like a blanket and manipulate its form and shape. Though the aura itself had nothing special about it that I knew of. It was just some light and far as I knew.
Now Today we had solely only worked in the speed spell hoping that I was able to get enough speed and gain more stamina to create a huge tapestry in a day.

                                      ****
I awoke early the next morning taking a quick shower and putting on my regular green outfit and head off to the castle. I couldn't believe how much I had learned to do that night and hopefully I am able to perform the speed spell I learned when creating this tapestry. The Queen had kindly offered their weaving looms for me to use at the castle. Taking a carriage I hurriedly approached the castle. My heart pounded this whole thing suddenly dawned on me. What am I doing? Why did I think I was able to do this? I'm going to ruin this whole thing completely.
Knocking on the palace doors I immediately regretted this whole thing. A man kindly escorted me to the royal family. With every step I took the closer I was to running away in absolute fear, soon I was in front of the royal family. The queen with her disapproving eyes, king with his bored expression, and the young princess looked as if she'd rather be out with her friends than here greeting me.
"Your Highness I present to you Carla Forge!" The man says and I bow daring not to say a word.
"Thank you Sir Herald, you may go." With that the man bowed and left. I felt so alone I wish Mayhem was here to give me the courage to speak.
"Shall we begin," The Queen says as a statement rather than a question.
Showing me the room I was going to be working at, I looked at the beautiful loom they had let me use. It was huge This was not going to work out at all.
After setting everything up, picked up my needle with a shaking hand. Before I start I whisper a small speed spell chant then with an overflow of magic filled my veins, a new confidence cane over me, and I finally spoke and said, " Don't worry your Majesties, this won't take long." They gave each other un-amused glances and left the room. Due to the time that it usually takes to create a huge tapestry they gave me a painted image they wanted me to copy off of. Looking at the painted I inhaled, thought of nothing and let the image of the painting sink in my mind, then I started my weaving process. My hand moved across with ease and incredible speed, a smile spread across my face, learning this specific spell had paid off. The imaged of my work was finally coming together.
When I was doing this I hadn't noticed the faint aura that spread from my arms to my hand and down the needle. All of my strength was going into this tapestry.
Hours later I had reached my limit and I stopped and nearly collapsed from exhaustion. Looking at my work I frowned, what felt like my whole life being drained from me, was the dissatisfaction I had with my work. I was almost halfway done with with and the sun was already about to set. Tears welled up in my eyes, I couldn't do it, all my training and I still wasn't good enough. The princess suddenly walked into the room as I was fighting back my tears.
"Whoa, you got all of that done Today?" I wanted to runaway and bury myself alive.
"Doesn't it take months just to do that?" When Moon said this I suddenly realized that she wasn't annoyed, she was amazed.
"I...uh." I couldn't say anything, or else I would've burst into tears.
"How were you able this much progress that quickly?"
She stared at me for an answer an I responded with,
"Um...Practice..."

Hey Guys! I just wanted to thank those who have been taking the time to read these chapters I know it may not be as great as an x reader, but I really am trying to make this a little better. Thank you once again X3
