Daniel Seavey

Maybe an hour later I felt a little squeeze in my hand. I looked at Valencia, who slowly opened her eyes, looking my direction, then her eyes moved to the baby.

"Is that him?" She asked, her sleepy voice sounded raspy and like she was about to cry. I nodded. "He's so beautiful," She sighed, a tear slipped down her cheek.

"How are you, how's the pain?" I asked.

"It's there," She tried to brush it off. I sat down on the bed next to her and handed her our child carefully over.

"Hey," She mumbled to him. I smiled at the sight of them. "Is he in perfect health?" She asked. I nodded.

"Would you like," She started. I looked up. "Matthew?" She softly said. I looked at the baby and then back to her. "From.. Corbyn, with everything and, i just think it would be nice and fitti-"

I smiled and kissed her cheek. "I think that's beautiful," I interrupted.

"And then after your dad, and mom," She added.

"We don't have to do that if you don't feel comfortable with it," I said but she shook her head.

"I love your family."

"Our family," I corrected her.

She smiled. "Matthew Jeffrey Seavey."

"That's beautiful," I said and removed a strand of hair from her face. "I love you."

"I love you too," She said. Then there was a knock on the door, the doctor came in.

"Hello Mrs. Seavey, how are you feeling?" He asked.

"Couldn't be better," She said happily. The doctor laughed.

"Wait 'till they're in their teens," He teased. "How's the pain, do you need more medication?" She refused. "Okay, then the nurse will bring you some coffee and some light food to see if you can keep it in, then we'll see if you can go home in the morning," He said. I looked at the clock. It was 10 pm, visitinfghour was already over and so my guess was the boys must've left. I stood up and walked towards the hall, where they were patiently waiting. "Guys," I said and made a little hand gesture, saying they were allowed to come in. I laid down again next to Valencia who smiled at the boys coming in.

"Congratulations guys," Jonah said as he walked in at last with a big teddy bear balloon. "I uh, couldn't help myself," He chuckled as he pointed at the balloon. He walked towards the side of the bed and tied it to the headboard.

All of the guys were standing around the bed, looking at Matthew.

"Have you guys thought of a name yet?" Jack asked. I looked at her smiling as we both nodded.

"Matthew Jeffrey Seavey," I said proudly, stroking his little cheek with my finger.

"That's amazing, it really fits him," Jonah said.

"Where did the name come from?" Jack asked.

"We decided to name him Matthew, after Corbyn's middle name, because this now together like this probably wouldn't have happened without him." Valencia said. Jonah smirked.

"Pay up," He said and held his hand up.

"Did you bet on our baby?" Valencia chuckled
