Chapter 7: Are You Up For Round 2?
<<Jeydon Red>>
The cool breeze quickly dance through the woods. Blue and I walked under the roof of trees that are possibly older than me. She's finally here by my side. I have waited two long centuries just to hug her and cherish her like I imagined every night, every hour and every minute of my life.
"And I told you, she's a hard headed girl," Damon said. Sometimes I wonder how it feels when you don't have a spirit animal inside you. Yeah that's right. Damon is my spirit animal and my protector.
I had him when I was 6 years old and my mother laughed when I was so scared of him. Who wouldn't get scared of a red-flaming wolf cub. Although, he was still small at that time. But, hey, I was six for fuck's sake.
Some shape-shifters don't have spirit animals to guide them. I, on the other hand, have one. Bummer.
"Hey! You're making me look that I'm the bad guy," I wish he doesn't have the ability to read minds.
Shape-shifters have different abilities. If your family have the blood of an amphibian, then you'll inherit that kind of ability. Amphibians can live both land and water. Same as shape-shifters, you can only change to an amphibian animal. If you tried to shape-shift into something else, different from your blood line of the family, you'll have the biggest chance to die. Same goes for reptile clans, mammal clans, bird clans and fish clans.
It's both a curse and a blessing, according to many books. The sweet goddess of earth, Gaia, made the rule when she created Earth. All mythical creatures respect and love our beloved Gaia. She's the creator of earth and universe. Every century, she comes down with and tell stories with her creative magic hands. One thing is for sure, Gaia can't speak to us. She can't speak to her creations. She can only speak with the Gods and Goddesses.
When I first heard about her, I was laughing hysterically. Because, at that time, I didn't believe. And after my 12th birthday which is the day after I laughed at the old man's face when I first heard about Gaia, I found her sitting on my swing that was under my tree house.
She was wearing a white dress that ended just below her knees. She was beautiful with long wavy hair with a flower crown above her head. She was bare footed and was swinging like a child with a smile plastered on her beautiful face. That time, I regret laughing about her. She just shook her head saying no and vanished into a smooth spark.
My thoughts vanished when I heard a rustling sound. My senses picked up its pace.
"Blue, stay behind me," I said to Blue, making her stop also in her tracks. She obliged. The rustling came again.
"What's that?" She asked. She didn't tremble or anything, she just asked curiously. Is this girl afraid of something? No?
"Not sure," I replied. My senses came back to me and it's like there's something out there that can kill us. Huge one. "Just stay behind me."
She snorts. "Dude, I'm not a little girl. I fought hundreds of monsters out there," she said. Damn stubborn gorgeous beautiful girl.
The rustling came again, followed by a low and threatening growl. We're in a territory.
Suddenly, a big brown wolf jumped out of the bushes.
It was ready to attack, showing of its fighting stances. Growling at me while I let out my black shadows. I glared at the wolf.
"Wait, Jax? Is that you?" Blue suddenly asked.
The wolf stopped growling once he heard Blue. Me, was standing there and doesn't know what the fuck is goin' on.
