Nathalia's POV:
"Told ya you're going to regret this." My inner self told my stupid self.
Here I am, standing infront of the biggest building city. I took a deep breath and gathered all of my courage and entered the building.
"Hi, I'm Natalia Gomez. Can I talk to your boss?" I introduce myself to the man at the front desk.
"Do you have any appointment with him?" The staff asked, not bothering to look at me and his eyes still fixed on the monitor.
"Uh--none but look, I'm here to discuss something important to him." I pleaded at him.
The man sighed and looked at me, he was about to speak when his eyes widened when the man behind me spoke, "What is this something important that you want to discuss with me?"
"That voice!" I slowly turned my back and saw, "Marco?"
The gorgeous man smiled at me, "Natalia."
"You're the boss here?" I asked him without thinking.
He let out a small laugh, "Yes. Let's head to my office to discuss this important thing that you want to talked about."
My spirit lightened when he invited me, "Thank you very much Marco."
He lead me to his office located at the highest level of the building. I noticed how his employees greet him but I can sense how tensed they are to see him.
Some of them noticed me and greeted me with a smile which I generously smiled back.
It's funny because I can hear their murmurs and they thought that I am their boss' girlfriend. I wish, I laughed at myself.
When we reached his office, his secretary gave me a fresh brewed coffee. "Thank you." I said that made her smile and left.
Marco cleared his throat, "So what do you want to discuss with me? "
"You remember those two people that I told you that were found dead in the warehouse? " I saw Marco nod. "Well, I would like to ask you the status quo of Mr. Anderson's company?"
Marco looked at me for awhile and spoke, "Well--Mr. Anderson's company is not in good condition, he actually loaned 100 millions dollar from my company."
I grabbed my phone to encode the information then I looked at him and I saw his eyes looked at me in awe. "Is it okay for me to encode? The inspector will ask me--"
"Yes it's okay, I don't mind." He interrupted."Let's go back, Mr. Anderson kept thanking me and saying that he will pay me back as soon as possible but I told him that money is not an issue for me and he should focus on fixing his company first." I encoded the whole sentences because this might be a good lead to the murder case of Mr. Anderson.
"But if I can remember Mr. Anderson don't have any problem with the company that he loaned to." I was shocked when I heard his testament.
"Then what do you think might be the reason behind this murder?" I asked him.
Marco scrolled something on his phone then handed it to me. My eyebrows furrowed, "Mr. Anderson was caught in trouble because of gambling?"
"We both like gambling. But I already stopped for about 2 years already but Mr. Anderson didn't stop." He said
"So the murderer might be one of the guys that Mr. Anderson played with in the casino." Thoughts filled my mind but was interrupted when the phone on my hand rang.
"It's an unknown number." I informed him and handed him his phone.
Marco answered it and I know there's something odd because he looked troubled. He set the call on loud speaker and I was shocked that it was a person giving a threat to Marco, I can't distinguish if it's a man or woman since the voice is tampered with voice changer.
"If you will not pay for the old man's debt then you will be the next one that we're going to kill." The person on the other line said and hung up.
"Marco, someone's threatening you. You need to report it to the police so that we will able to give you protection." I worriedly suggested to him.
"Yes I will. Thank you Natalia." He smiled at me. "Why is he still smiling? He was just threatened, right?"
"I have to go. Do you want me to report this incident to the station?" I volunteered.
"Yes please. Thank you Officer." Marco replied.
As I was about to leave, Marco spoke and invited me to a dinner tomorrow. "I helped you with this case, atleast can I have a reward?"
I smiled at him, "I owe you one. I'll stop by here tomorrow. See you." Then left and head to station to report the information that I got.
Marcus's POV:
As Natalia left, I took my phone and called my man. "Job well done, she believed it." and hung up.
I knew that a police officer might come here to interrogate me so I contacted my man to create an alibi for me and it is to make a phone call to threaten me.
My heart skipped when I saw Natalia earlier at the front desk, her presence and her voice made my day.
Its sucks that Natalia is a police woman. If she isn't a police woman then we can live happily ever after. But I'm happy that she agreed to the dinner tomorrow.
I smiled at the memory of her eagerly encoding the information or the lies that I was saying.
"I'm sorry my love but this is how I live. I have a very complicated life that you will not understand."
