Unexpected Love (Chris Collins fanfic)

Chapter 3

The expression on their face was incredible. Tara ran towards me and hugged me very tightly. When Chris approached me his seemed speechless.

" Well, are you gunna hug me? don't tell me you didn't mis-"

Before I could finish he grabbed me and pulled me into a warm hug. his hug seemed more welcoming for some reason.

" I'm so excited to see you guys again! I feel like its been forever since I've seen you."

" Well to us it feels like its been 2 forevers!" Chris replied staring at me with his bright eyes.

We hung out for a bit but when it was time for our classes, we had to part. On my way to History, I noticed Tara whispering to a senior. I wondered but I didn't speak. Tara was always open when it came to dating but she was never really a slut in my description.

Chris on the other hand was pretty quiet. But apparently we had 3rd, 5th, and 6th period together. I only had 4th with Tara which was quite a bummer.

During science Mr. Farro assigned us with a project. we were allowed to have a partner as long as the work was done by next Friday. Before he could finish, me and Chris suddenly turned to look at each other, giving each other that look, signaling that we re going to be partners.

Our assignment was to make something symbolizing our heritage. Since me and Chris are both just straight Canadian we figured it was going to be easy-peasy.

" Okay are we metting after school today? You know since what tomorrow is." he said to me while we walked down the hall. I had almost forgotten. Tomorrow was my 17th birthday! with the move and everything I had kinda put it off to the side!

" As crazy as it sounds, I think I actually forgot! but yea for sure. Your house?" I replied.

" Yea that's cool" he said as I knocked in to him, Teasing him a bit.

" Are you inviting Tara?"

" Actually, I was hoping it could just be us. Ya know since its our project, and 'cause she will probably just be on her phone the whole time."

"Okay that's fine" I said back to him. I understood what he meant. As I was walking I could feel his eyes and his smile staring at me. I just kinda smiled. He put his arm around me and kinda shook me as he said

" i sure am glad you're back, Kiera."

I don't know why, but he was giving me a feeling I didn't get when I was fourteen. But yet again I had changed a lot since then.
