Niall's P.O.V

The first day at Eastway High went better than expected. At lunch I went to sit with a really pretty girl named Cassie Wilson. I was a bit curious to why a pretty little girl like her would be sitting alone. We had a few classes together and we hung out a long over the past few days, I was really beginning to like her and i'm kinda developing a crush on her.

After school I met Cassie at the back of the school building (that's where we always meet) and we walk home together. Cassie lives just 6 houses away from me.

"hey niall, you wanna come over to my house this afternoon?"

"yeah, why not." She gave me a huge grin, not like that forced smile she gave me the first day we met.

*Cassie's house*

I really wanted to ask cassie why she was sitting alone at lunch, but I don't know if I should...Without even thinking the words spilled out of my mouth. "Cassie, why were you sitting alone at lunch?"

I could tell a chill went down her spine. Maybe I shouldn't have asked, but I did anyway thanks to my huge mouth.

She looked at me with a little depression in her eyes, her voice grew very faint as she said this almost as if she were about to cry. "It's a long story." After a few seconds of silence I heard Cassie quietly weeping. What did I do wrong? Ah nuggets, I knew I shouldn't have asked. Stupid Niall, Stupid Niall!  "Niall you're the only friend I have." Then she fell into my arms, I hugged her tightly. Then I started letting a few tears out, I hate to see people I love in pain it hurts me just as much.

I didn't ask her anymore questions, instead she told me the answers to everything I was dying to know. "My mum passed away of breast cancer....3 years ago, and at school alot of people make fun of me and tease me, telling me how fat and ugly I am......it hurts."

It killed me hearing this, how could ANYONE call Cassie Wilson fat and ugly?!!! I was furious, she was the prettiest girl I've ever met.  "Cassie....please don't cry; know that you're not fat and ugly at all, your beautiful. And I truly mean it when I say this."

"Thanks Niall....I'm so glad you're here." I blushed a little at that, I wasn't very good with taking compliments as I didn't get them very often. She turned to stare at my eyes, "you gave me hope."

We talked a little more, about 2 more hours. We talked about our favorite hobbies, our family, and FOOD. I espicially loved the discussion about food. I found out that me and Cassie had a lot of similar intrests, we both loved to sing, and eat food! I heard Cassie sing, and I sang for her too. Cassie was amazing!!! She was really good, seriously.

"OMG niall......I didn't know you could sing THAT good!!! Did you take like singing lessons or something?"

I laughed, she clearly exaggerated too much, I wasn't as talented as she described. "no, I just sing for my own enjoyment." 

"And enough about me, you-you sing amazing Cassie!!! You have a beautiful voice." I saw her trying to hide her eye contact with me, she smiled a little, "thanks nialler"

Nialler? Hmm...i like that nickname. Nialler.......

"whaddu call me?" I said in a girly girl tone while snapping my fingers and doing the duck lips. Cassie laughed, "Oh, niall...." We got a little tierd of staying in Cassie's room for so long so we went to a near by park, we had lots of fun. We went on the swings, taking turns to push each other. We went on the slides at the same time.... "WEEEEE!!!!" And then we crashed into the sand together, and we burst out laughing.

"Oh niall that was the most fun I've had in like forever." I laughed, "i had lots of fun too."

"hey you said your favorite fast food place is Nando's, there's one just across the block. You wanna eat there?"

Oh this day could not get any better! "Yes, I would love to!" She giggled and nudged me on the arm, "you sure love food." "Oh you have a problem with that?" I teased back. 

We arrived at Nando's in just a 10 minute walk. We ordered a lot of grilled chicken, although it was mostly me who ate it. "Come on Cass don't be such a lady, dig in!"

She gave me a devious smile before she rolled up her sleeves and took a chicken wing and started biting and chewing furiously. "oh now that's what we're talking about." I said,  a little too loud. People at tables near by looked at us, and one man rolled his eyes and mumbled under his breath. "kids....."

After done our delicious grilled chicken we sat at nandos for a little while longer as we were waiting for the pouring rain to turn into a light drizzle.

"niall....do you think maybe we can both try out for The X Factor, as singers?" I felt a little uncomfortable, I liked to keep my talents to myself, but i guess if cassie was willing to, I would too.

Cassie's P.O.V

"niall....do you think maybe we can both try out for The X Factor, as singers?" I saw Niall's reaction, he looked a little unwilling, maybe he wasn't ready. I regreted asking. His answer suprised me, "yeah, i'm totally up for it." "Oh great! Should we go as solo artists?" "whatever you want..." He didn't seem very excited.

That Night I went to Niall's house to audition for The X Factor online. The audition will take place in 2 weeks, so we still had a little time to prepare.

"so what song will you perform for the audition, nialler?" He thought for a moment, he was so cute when he was stressed out. Ok, that sounds weird, but it was completely true. "I was thinking maybe...so sick by ne-yo."

"Yeah! that's a great song choice, i think it will suit your voice perfectly." He smiled at my comforting words, "I hope so, now how about you Cass?" Well I was giving this a little more thought then necessary; the song choice was very important to a good audition. "hmm..i don't know actually. any ideas nialler?" "How about that song you sang to me this afternoon....what was it called? ...save a life?"

"Ohh...HOW to save a life! Yeah maybe I should sing that. thanks."

"No problemo."

The days were going by fast, me and Niall spend nearly every second of the day together. and we seriously became very, very close friends. Every day school would be the same, lunch was always my favorite part of the school day as it was the only time where I can talk to niall and share a few laughs with him. After school, we would always hang out at my house and practice our songs for the upcoming audition.

"had i known how to save a life, how to save a life." I finished the last lines of my auditioning song.

Niall clapped loudly and he looked very proud. "Great job Cass, you'll definetely win The X Factor!"

I laughed, I knew I wasn't that good but it sure was nice to hear those words, it made me a lot more confident.  Niall has made me a totally new person, I was starting to feel happiness and hope...something i never thought I would ever feel in my entire life.
