Leaves crunched under my feet as I walked down to the river. The wind blew through my silk dress and it lifted up as if it was ready to dance. I kept on walking even though it got darker. When i reached the river I could hear it traveling against the soft sand, It was relaxing. I sat down on a rock that was underneath a dead tree and just started to think. What am I going to do once I get older? I have no one next to my side to protect me. I didn't want to think about this anymore so I jumped up onto the water.
I stood there bobbing up and down with the waves. I raised my arms up and then down. As they went down, water started to rise around me. The water rose up into the shape of a ribbon circling around me. The water was soothing and drips of it fell back down into the river but eventually came back up. Soon lily pads came out all around me even though it was fall. Leaves and vines crowded up on the branches to watch my show. And then my feet started to move back and forth. It created patterns in the waves. As my feet moved back and forth my arms started swaying to match the rhythm. I stood in the water and tried to get in the most comfortable position. Once i did, I leaped up and down moving my arms with the waves. My toes touched back down to the cold water every time. I loved dancing on water it was so relaxing and it took my mind of things. Suddenly there was a splash to my right and all the lights from the glowing plants went out. It was silent as all the vines and lilypads scooted away into the forest again. This has never happened to me before, all the humans should be sleeping or at least out of the water by now. I wonder if this human saw me? What if it's not human? What am I going to do?
"H- hello?" a voice spoke from the darkness.
I felt some sort of power come towards me so I backed up a little, farther out onto the water. As I backed up i heard a small step onto the water. How can this human be walking on water!? I thought.
"I- I... I'm not here to hurt you, im one of you." the voice spoke quietly again.
"How can I trust you?" my voice shook. Suddenly a hand came out before me and a light lit up just over it. The light was illuminated from a floating tiny wave just above the hand. " How can you do that and who are you?" I asked confused.
" Like I said, i'm one of you." the voice said again.
" but...but I can't do that, at least i dont think i can."
" how old do you say you are?"
" Im 8 years old."
"That explains it. Im 16 human years old and my name is henry." the voice said pleasantly.
" Im nova, can I see your face now?"
" sure." and then the tiny wave light started to rise up and back so I could see Henry's face. When the light got there I looked up to see a sweet looking 16 year old boy. He had brown hair and a small nose. He had purple eyes and human clothes on. He was just a normal looking boy it seemed, but by the look of his power, he was a high leveled... whatever you would call us.
"Ok then, do you like to dance on the water?" I asked.
" Yes, I do very much."
I like this person I thought as I turned around and started lifting my arms again. Then like before as I brought my arms down waves started rising into a ribbon shape and twisted around me. I then again started moving my legs. Then I moved my arms to match the pattern. As I got comfortable I started leaping around the water making little splashes. Henry was doing the same when I got the chance to peek over at him. The lily pads came back out and the leaves and vines crowded up the branches again. Then bushes and trees sprouted out of the ground on the sides of the river. This has never happened before. I knew me and henry's power was getting stronger. We were together now. I had a protector for my future. I had a new friend, and his name was Henry.
