Y/N POV

I had to get away quickly. The rain was hitting my face but I didn't care. I needed to leave that son of a bitch boyfriend. He would be physically abusive to me constantly and I had enough. I gripped my bag and focused on my footsteps. I didn't know where I was going. I had no where to go. Just as I turning the corner I felt myself bump into someone. From what I could see he had dark blonde hair and some sort of hat.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry are you okay?" the stranger said.

I looked up and an attractive man with a concerned face looked at me.

"U-um y-yeah I'm fine." I quickly grabbed my things and started to get up. The man let his hand out to help me but I was hesitant to accept.

"Hey listen I'm Patrick. Why are you all alone in the dark and rain?"

I try not to look at his face. Ever since my boyfriend Jack had been hitting me I had been weary of all men.

"Hi Patrick I'm just trying to find somewhere to stay. It's fine I just need to go."

I pick up my bag and start to leave.

"Hey wait if you need somewhere to stay, you can stay in my apartment. It's the least I can do for bumping into you." He reached out for my hand.

I look up at him and he is smiling at me. God that smile was adorable.

"U-uh ok-okay." I stuttered out. I grabbed his hand and we walked in the rain back to his apartment.

Patrick POV

I've gotta admit she is beautiful. Her
E/C eyes were so innocent when she looked at me. And I couldn't leave her all alone out here soaking wet and cold. Even though it was dark I noticed bruises on her face and on the exposed skin on her arms. She looked weak. I decided not to ask her about it as I didn't want to upset her even though I was concerned.

We arrived at my apartment. I unlocked the door and allowed her to enter first.

"Welcome to my humble abode. There's a bathroom down that corridor to the right where you can get cleaned up and there's a bedroom upstairs. Feel free to get some dry clothes from the dresser."

She looked at me and smiled but she barely made eye contact. In the light I could see more injuries. She tried to cover most of them with her wet H/C hair.

"Thank you Patrick." She whispered

I realised I didn't even know this girls name.

"Hey what's your name by the way." She put her bag by the door.

"Y/N."

Man what a beautiful name. She walked down the corridor towards the bathroom and I could hear the water running from the sink.

Y/N POV

I cleaned off any dirt I got on myself from the fall. I looked at my battered face in the mirror. I looked like a shell of myself. I had memories of the times at Jack's house when he would get angry at me for looking at him the wrong way. I felt myself start to cry but quickly wiped them away.

Once I was cleaned up I went to the bedroom. It was quite spacious with a double bed. I looked in the dresser and pulled out a band tee and some sweatpants. I heard humming downstairs so I decided to check it out. I peeked downstairs and saw Patrick walking around the kitchen cleaning up and humming. I loved his voice. I could fall asleep to the sweet tune.

I got in the bed and passed out. I was so exhausted.
