Beep. Beep. Beep.

I sat in Cali's hospital room, I lounged in the recliner, with my feet up, watching t.v.

I've been here for a good five hours already. Enzo did not want me coming here, and the doctors didn't want me leaving the house.

But after I made them realize how much stress I'd be in without doing this, and knowing they could monitor me since I would be there, they caved.

I had a nurse come in every hour or so, just to check me out, and make sure nothing was wrong. Enzo still wasn't too happy about the whole thing, he waited around for about an hour, and took off. I don't think he gets it.

I sat right next to her bed. I'd hold her hand every once in a while, talk to her, I even let her feel the baby kicking at one point.

She stirred around some, but never opened her eyes.

I felt defeated, like if I went to see her, she'd wake up immediately and everything would be okay.

I knew this was probably my last chance of seeing her before the baby came. There isn't any way I'd be able to talk Enzo into this again.

I sighed, throwing my head back, a few loose tears slipped out of my eyes, and I brushed them away.

I started watching t.v again, exhausted, missing Enzo, and just wanting to go home.

I pulled my phone out and went to call him.

"Hello?"

"Hi baby. I think I'm done here, I'm ready to come home."

"Okay, well I won't be done for another two hours. So you're gonna have to relax and wait for me."

"Two hours? What the hell are you doing?"

"Eri--, I gotta go babe. I love you."

Click.

WHAT.THE.FUCK!

I know I pissed him off, but damn.

Tears were streaming down my face now, and I didn't bother brushing them off. I grabbed the blanket off the bedside table, and covered myself up.

I tossed, and turned, and tried laying back, I couldn't get comfortable.

I looked up at Cali and she had plenty of room.

I giggled to myself, because this is something she'd do if it were me.

I stood up, slid her over some, and scooted in beside her. I laid my head against hers, and dozed off.

"Enzo move over. Stop shaking me. I want sleep."

I felt him shaking me, even slightly pushing me.

"Enz, stop. PLEASE."

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

My eyes flew open and I got up faster than I ever have.

I look around and I don't see anyone.

Cali is sleeping in bed still.

I creep around the room, and I don't see anyone.

I figured I just had one of those weird dreams where you think you hear something and it's not. I have no idea, honestly.

I decide to sit back into the recliner, and pull my phone out.

I was asleep for thirty minutes, really?

Ugh, I open my games, and start playing on my phone waiting for him.

"Why are you asking for Enzo?" A voice choked out.

I slowly look up, and over, officially freaking out. I could feel the hair standing up on my arms, I walk over and look down at Cali, and she's sleeping.

"Cali? Was that you? Oh my God please tell me it was before I freak the fuck out and have my daughter on this floor."

"Girl?" Her eyes slowly opened, and she croaked when she spoke.

My eyes got so wide, I flung my arms around her.

"You're awake!"

"Water." I nodded quickly, and gave her a cup with  a straw and put it in her mouth.

She drank it down, swallowing hard.

I need to go get a doctor.

Cali shook her head.

"Why not?"

She smiled, and put her hand on my belly.

"Cause I don't wanna be prodded and poked right now. I wanna see my best friend."

"Oh Cali, I love you." I lean down and kiss her cheek, and rubbing her head.

"Tell me Erin, what happened?"

"Well, you and your mom were in an accident. Your injuries were so bad, they only gave you a 50/50 chance of even making it. You've been in a coma for nearly 9 months."

"Where's my mom?"

I look away blinking my tears away, and trying to steady my voice, exhaling, to tell her.

"Mom, didn't umm she didn't make it." I barely said it without tears falling down hard.

"No. No. Not my mom."

She began crying, and I immediately clung to her, she sobbed into my arms, and eventually she lifted up her head.

"How was her funeral?"

"Beautiful. Your aunts did a lovely job preparing it."

She nodded, and began wiping her face.

"Cali, I really need to get the doctors. They need to make sure you're okay."

She nodded again, not really acknowledging too much anymore.

I walked out into the hall, and found a doctor.

He walked into the room, and had two more doctors and some nurses with him, and they began checking over her.

I sat back into the chair, waiting for everything to be done.

Cali looked so lifeless. Her mother was her best friend, and my heart was breaking for her.

I sat there watching everything, and then I heard a knock at the door, and Enzo walks in.

He was shocked as he looked around at everyone.

His eyes and Cali's making contact.

Both of them looked shocked and then they both landed upon me.

What the fuck is going on?
