"Jade.."Someone prodded me gently with their hand, and I mumbled,
"Go away, Scar..leave me alone..."
He chuckled.
Wait.
Chuckled?
Cats don't chuckle..
I sat up extremely fast, yelping as I almost fell out of my bed in the process.
The voice chuckled again.
"Jade, are you okay? That looked like it hurt."
Hold on a second.
I know that voice.
Gosh it sounds like..I don't know...CANDY?
I uncovered my face, moving the blanket so I could actually see.
And there, right in front of me, stood glory in itself, wearing black jeans and a yellow hoodie, Ollie.
I screamed and jumped into his arms, not caring that I had the worst bedhead ever and rank morning breath.
All I cared about was Ollie. Just Ollie.
He laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist, picking me up and holding me tight.
"I've been waiting for this moment since we first started talking." He mumbled into my shoulder, and I took a deep breath, and I smelled Old Spice.
"Mm..." was my response.
'Mmmm' ??
God I'm a dork.
He chuckled and put me down.
He looked me up and down, and smirked.
"Nice pajamas. "
I looked down at my outfit. I was wearing a large t-shirt, that barely covered half of my thighs, by the way.
I blushed. "It was my brother's...."
He smiled warmly at me. "I know. "
I sighed. "Sometimes I wish it never had happened...it ruined my life. "
"Hey," He hugged me tightly. "It'll be okay. They would have wanted you to be happy, and live life to the fullest." He pulled away, took my shoulders in his hands, and looked me dead in the eyes. I got lost in his deep, green, captivating eyes. "And that is exactly what you are going to do. Do you have everything packed?"
I nodded, and he smiled, and wiped a tear that had fallen, away with his thumb.
I sniffed and rubbed my face. I hadn't even noticed that I was crying.
How embarrassing.
"I have to change. I look like crap." I stated, sniffing.
He gave me a confused look. "Why? You look great. "
I blushed. "I'll just brush my hair and stuff. I need to put jeans on, though."
He nodded. "I'll be waiting in the car. Just come out whenever you're ready. But we have to be on the plane by one. "
I looked at the time. It was eleven.
"Oh, okay. I'll be quick." I responded, smiling at him.
He nodded, and walked out of my room.
Man, I'm kinda glad that I left my door unlocked last night.
I went in the bathroom and chose a comfy pair of black jeans to throw on, and brushed my hair before running out, grabbing my purse on the way.
I stepped outside and saw a cute little black BMW, Ollie inside, listening to Boy in the Bubble by Alec Benjamin. I love that song. It's one of my favorites.
I walked out, and it wasn't until the cold air smacked my face I realized that I forgot my jacket.
Welp.
It's gonna be a cold trip.
I opened the car door, and slid in the passengers seat. Ollie looked up from his phone and smiled at me.
"Hey, you ready to go?"
I nodded and smiled at him.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
About five minutes into the car ride, Ollie spoke.
"So. If I ask you a question, will you answer honestly?"
I looked at him and smiled. "Of course. I would never lie to you." And it was true. I would never lie to Ollie. Even if he asked me how I felt about him. I would still answer honestly.
"Okay." He sighed, and hesitantly, he asked, "Was I what you expected?"
Hard question. I don't know how to answer that. He was way more than I expected. I mean, he was wayyyyyyyyy better than what I had in mind, and believe me, what I had in mind was pretty darn great.
"Honesty, I don't know. I mean, you were even better than what I expected. You're amazing, Ollie. I hope you know that. You're going to make some girl very happy one day. "
I sighed internally. I wish that girl was me...
"So, is that a good thing? I mean, that I was better than what you expected?"
I chuckled softly. "Ollie," I put my hand on top of his free one, "You could have been exactly what I expected and I would have been happy. The point is, you're you, and you're great, no matter what anyone says."
He smiled at me, twining our hands together and squeezing them.
"Thanks, Jade. It means a lot to me for you to say that."
I smiled back. "No problem." I loved the way his hand felt in mine, and I was horribly dissapointed when he pulled away to steer us into the airport parking lot.
I started to get nervous. I was afraid of heights, but I didn't think Ollie knew that. I don't think he knew that I've never flew on a plane, either.
"Ollie.." I started, while he shut the car off and turned to look at me.
Once he saw how frightened I was, he instantly looked worried.
"Jade? What's wrong? Are you okay?"
"Ollie..I'm...I'm afraid of heights. And I've never been on a plane before. I'm scared, honestly. "
He smiled sweetly at me. "That's okay. I'll be with you through the whole thing. I'll even hold your hand, if it makes you feel better. No matter what happens, I won't let you go. I won't let you get hurt."
I smiled back at him, calming down a little. "Thanks, Ollie. But you don't have to do that if you don't want to. "
He gave a little "pfft" sound, and smiled again. "That's what friends do. We look out for each other."
My smile faded slightly. I got friend zoned. As usual. I know he doesn't feel what I feel towards him, but it still hurts.
We get my luggage, and head towards the big doors of the airport. I wasn't as scared as I was before, knowing that Ollie was there for me, but I was still a bit spooked.
