For Libra survival came naturally, she had lived most of her life hunted and always looking over her shoulder for the next enemy. Ever since her powers came they started appearing. Being capable of fighting her.

The Coordinate is what they called themselves, being linked together and lead by the Coordinators. The most common ones were the Stone Born creatures of stone and energy that serve as the Coordinate's foot soldiers. Alone they would not stand a chance against a fully realized Zodiac such as Libra. Their greatest power is their numbers, they never travel alone and under the command of the Comets, officers of the Coordinate, capable of deadly surprise attacks.

The comets were the reason Libra never stuck around long. At fifteen her guardian fell to a Comet and Libra barely managed to get away unlocking her telekinesis. After three years alone Libra learned to survive and grow stronger. Then she found Cancer.

She was travelling in lower Texas near the border when she saw the young teenager sneaking through. She had no intention of doing anything before she saw the trio of men appeared and attacked the boy. They all had extremely dark skin covered in scars and looking like boxers from the past.

Before the Stone Born knew what was happening Libra was on them. Before they even realized what was happening Libra sent one flying far into the distant with a blast of telekinesis. She grabbed another by the arm and flung him hard to the ground. The third hit her hard knocking her into the air, turning in midair she landed on her feet. The Stone Born charged her, a constant barrage of fists launched at her. With her enhanced speed she dodged his blows with ease.

Hearing something behind her she spun around and saw the second Stone Born had risen. The two attacked her from the front and behind but Libra was able to dodge and block their attacks. One managed to land a blow on her stomach, she doubled over and the second slammed both his fists to her back sending her crashing to the ground.

"She wasn't so tough." The first Stone Born said, the second grunted and cracked his shoulder. "Let's just grab the kid and go." The second turned to where Cancer sat stunned on the ground.

"Shouldn't we take the woman too?" The First asked. The second shook his head. "Orders said kill the guardian and collect the kid, the guardian is dead, and her time will come."

The two walked away from the fallen Libra and advanced on Cancer. Before they could grab him Libra rose to her feet and launched herself at the Stone Born. She landed hard on the first one, grabbed his head and spun around him turning his head a complete 360. With the momentum of the attack she jumped at the second, her foot connecting with his chest and he fell to the ground.  looking at the nearby boarder fence she yanked a pole out the ground with her telekinesis, and brought it down hard on the Stone born impaling him.

As she moved away from the two Stone Born they started to harden and crumble to pieces. Stone Born do not live like most beings, they do not bleed, and when they die they become stone. Libra knelt down next to the boy.

"Don't worry, they can't harm you any more." Libra said pulling him to his feet. He brushed himself off. "Whats you name."

"James Raynolds." He said, Libra smiled at him.

"Nice try kid, those Stone Born were chasing you so I know your not human, and you saw me take them down so you know I'm not human either, so I'll try this again, what's your name?"

"Cancer." He said quietly. "That's better, I'm Libra. I heard what they said, you lost your guardian."

Cancer looked away, Libra saw tears well up in his eyes. Libra rested a hand on his shoulder and he completely broke down.

"Its okay, you won't be alone, I will keep you safe." Libra promised.

That was two months earlier. Since she found Cancer the Coordinate's attempts to catch her had doubled. Cancer had not recovered much from losing his guardian to the monsters. They were still in Texas as Libra did not want to move until she felt Cancer was ready.

When the Stone Born come Cancer always knows, his clairvoyance telling him that an attack is coming. With his warning Libra was able to get the drop on the Stone Born. In their free time Libra and Cancer trained. After two months his strength had grown considerable and had even gained his night vision ability. However Libra had noticed that he still had problems with his emotions.

Every morning Libra would look out at the open plains around the small house Libra had found and wondered when the Coordinate would sent in the real attack and whether she could stop them. Cancer was always saying they should leave, or to leave him. He would say she was far more important to the cause than him and she was putting herself in unnecessary risk by staying with him.

In the end Libra always won the arguments and they would stay in the house for another week before he started again.

They had just had another one and Libra was sitting out on the front porch staring up at the stars. She looked at the heavens till she spotted where the Homeworld was and smiled sadly. As she stared she remembered the promise she made to her guardian before he fell, to return home and make sure that as many of their kind came with her. Eventually she rose to go to bed, cast one last glance at the night sky and home before closing the door behind her.
