as i wither under your sun
you were once a warm embrace
and now your scalding heat singes my face
i take in your flames
like forbidden fruit
your scorch is so tempting, long for the feel of you
i'm dying
my petals are drying
but on the inside i continue smiling
your touch burns yet, i feel so alive
i continue to yearn as my (be)leaves slowly die
i love the pain you give me
though damage is dealt
i am happy
your attention makes me melt
and maybe i can't bloom
but i'll stay here with you

i love the pain
it's worth more than a thousand years of rain
and as my petals fall and my stem falters
