In this chapter, we are going to read and write Korean.

But before that, I want to give you a speaking exercise.

Let's start with "Hangeul"

1. "HANGEUL" also spelt Hangul, (I'll tell you why later) is to be pronounced this way....

(TIP: IN KOREAN, THE L AND R LETTER IS THE SAME, AND THE PRONOUNCIATION IS USUALLY
1.BETWEEN AN "L" AND AN "R",
               OR
2. IT CAN BE SAID AS EITHER "L"
               OR
3. "R"
LIKE I SAID IN THE VIDEO)

Movin on,

2. "SARANGHAE" Means I Love You In Korean. There are many ways of saying this one word. I will tell you the other ways later. It is to be pronounced like this...

This is an INFORMAL way of saying I Love You.

You can use this informally, with younger people (people younger to you) and also with friends of your age.

3. "NE / DE / YE" All these 3 have one meaning, "Yes" In Korean.

Ne and De are spelt with the same consonant, (I will explain this later)

Ye uses a different consonant.

Ne or De can be used informally or formally,

But Ye is to be used formally only.

It is pronounced this way,

There are two more types.

(First, "EUNG" Is used for korean texting, and it is spelt in Korean. I will tell you how later)

(Second, "EOH" Is also yes, but it is informal, and is said a lot)

4. "JEBAL" is "Please" in Korean. It is Informal. There is a formal way and I will tell you that later. It is pronounced like this....

5. "KAMSAMIDHA" means "Thank You" in Korean.

Confusion: Is Kamsamidha Formal or Informal?

Kamsamidha is a formal way of saying thank you.

BUT IT IS USED FOR BOTH.

It is said formally and informally.

That means, even though it is formal, it is also used between friends, and family, and people younger to you, and strangers so it is also informal.
