The Meeting

Hey I'm Jenni, I work for Google as an Analyst.
Landed this job straight out of college and it's been the best decision I've made.

Monday morning: "Good morning everyone let's start this week off on the right foot we will meet in the conference room at 9am," says Greg (Manager)
Daniel, "hey Jenni how are you?" Jenni responds, "Hey Dan, doing well this morning save me a seat will ya I have to respond to this email really quick." Daniel says, "sure" while walking away. As everyone gathers into the conference room Jenni is finishing up an email and as she is finishing she turns around to get up and this tall man walks in with a fully connected beard, beautiful brown skin, a fade and a smile to die for. As she gazed over at him she quickly realizes he is coming her way so she tries acting cool. Marcus says, "hey I'm new here, where is everyone?" Jenni replies, "hi I'm Jenni and we have our weekly Monday meetings in the conference room at 9am follow me." Marcus follows Jenni into the conference room and tells Greg that the new guy has just shown up. As she shuffles her way over to sit next to Daniel, Marcus loudly thanks for the welcome and instructions.

Greg, "Everyone this is Marcus he has just moved to this city from Texas and will mostly work remotely but will be here for the time being everyday until we can get this new project up and running smoothly. Jenni I'd like for you to show him around, and to his desk you will be working along side him on this project. So Marcus if you would like to introduce yourself go head." Marcus replies, "Thanks Greg, it's a pleasure to be here and to meet all of you, I look forward to finally putting names with faces after all the emails we go through lol. As he said I'm Marcus, I'm from Texas, I'm 35 years old and have been working as an Analyst for 10 years and now a Project Manager for 5 years. I look forward to working with you all and seeing more of California."

Greg finishes up his announcements, they discuss how last week ended, trends, and goals for the upcoming month. They break out and Jenni sees her gal pals Bianca and Sara rushing towards her..."omg how lucky are you to be working lead with that hunk Marcus" they both screamed. Jenni embarrassed but excited, " I know right he's hot, but we have to keep this all work and no play outside lol." Sara, "go I couldn't do it the first chance I got to have him outside work it be all over" Bianca chimed in, "shit me too, I'd jump his ass in a hurry."

Jenni, "okay ladies lol let me get back to my desk while Marcus is talking to Greg. He'll be looking for me soon ready to start this project before lunch. I'll try and pull you guys onto the team once we start putting that together." Bianca and Sara respond excitedly, "okay girl!" Jenni walks back to her desk and begins checking emails, responding and running her daily reports. She looks down at the clock and it's already 11:30am, thinking to herself, "what could they be talking about, maybe I'll walk by on my way to lunch to see if Marcus wants to meet." Jenni foxes her hair and make up, adjust her clothes as she gets up and grabs her purse as she begins to walk to Greg's office in her white blouse tucked into her grey penciled skirt and red bottom heels. She notices Marcus checking her out as she gets closer to door. Taps the siding and says, "hey guys I'm headed out for lunch, just taking a 30 so if you want to meet up after Marcus to discuss things we can." Marcus replies, "actually I'm starved could I go with you?" Jenni smiles and says, "of course." Marcus grabs his suit jacket and follows her out.

Jenni knows he's checking her out so she switches her way down the hall and passes Bianca and Sara so they see Marcus enjoying the view lol. She winks and says, " hey girls we're headed off to lunch you want something?" They both nod, "no" and giggle as they walk away. In the garage, Jenni says, "so Marcus how are you liking California? Is it treating you right?" Marcus laughs, "oh yeah it's treating me just right. (He shakes his head) I mean it's a beautiful  place I'm excited to be here finally working on this project, meeting everyone and exploring my new home for the next 8 months." Jenni laughs, "yes it's beautiful I was so used to small town living but when I moved here there was always so much to do and see and places to go! Some of us from work often go to happy hour you should join us." They reach her car a black with tan interior Audi. Jenni yells, " this is me" he gets in as she slides her purse to the back, and hikes up her skirt a little to drive. Marcus catches a glance out the corner of his eye and smiles. So they take off to Panera and hit the drive through. They order and drive back to work as they begin getting to know each other and head back to the conference room to eat their lunches and start working on the new project.

The afternoon begins to roll by so quickly they almost lose track of time. Uh oh an email is sent out, "looks like happy hour is going down tonight" Jenni reads as they celebrate the arrival of Marcus. He says, "hell yeah I'm down" Jenni replies for them both and tells Marcus he can follow her over.
