Joseph's father then understood what his son was thinking, to help and guide the youth through thick and thin so that when he reaches the top he could help them back for everything that they did where they could ask the youth to send them back to their own realm.

Joseph and his father were sent to Roax against their wills when a war broke up in the realm of Lien. A battle between two factions shook the entire realm causing a massacre between those two sides and major collateral. The fight between the Imperial army and Heaven Defying Guild had been going on for 1000 years already and it will never stop until one side is has won the war.

The war between the two factions was widely known in the entire realm of Lien but only a few select people outside of Lien knew the situation. These were the higher ups of each realm, no one was allowed to interfere in the war due to a treaty created by the someone at the Supreme Overlord Rank of Aegies.

Although no other power could interfere with the matters within Lien, it doesn't mean that those people who are already in the realm of Lien could interfere in the war. With this, Joseph's parents who were a part of the Wisp Warrior Guild had been contracted by the Imperial army to fight against the Heaven Defying Guild.

When Joseph's father heard the news, his entire demeanor from always being warm and loving turned into a cold expressionless and disdainful man. When Joseph's mother heard this, she fell down crying hugging her husband. They knew that the guild master sold out the entire guild to save himself because every single guild that the Imperial army sent to battle against the Heaven Defying Guild had all been slain with no survivors from that guild ever returning.

They could choose the option to run away but deserters were all killed by the Imperial army and the by guild they abandoned. It was dead at the end of the road with choosing either one of their options. At this point, knowing their inevitable death, they could only hope for their child to be kept safe.

Exploring all their options, their relatives, families, friends, none of them were available because they were either too far away or not capable to take care of Joseph. This made them spiral into despair, after exhausting their options they were left with the decision of being given to an orphanage. This would have been the only good option they had if this was the modern world but it wasn't.

In this realm of Lien, orphans are turned into soldiers by the Imperial army and are forced to fight in the war. This was also a terrible decision as their only care left in this world is to save their child form all the fighting.

Joseph's mother was more desperate than her husband as she was starting to have thoughts about that one person but it was far too risky. As the day they will fight in the war closed in, she was getting desperate and called him in.

While everyone was sleeping Joseph's mother got out of bed and went outside.

She went to a dark alley and stopped in front of a robed man, "Robert, I... I will do it. Just save my husband and son!" The robed man smiled as if he knew what she was gonna say.

"No problem, but you do know the dangers of saving your family right?"

"I do, but a chance for survival is better than certain death!" Tears started to come out of Joseph's mother as she talked. Knowing that her family has a chance to survive this ordeal even without her, it was such a relieving moment.

The sun rose accompanied by a cool breeze, Joseph's father woke up in a daze wondering where his wife was. He saw the note that his wife left. Upon reading this note, he broke down in tears. It said the she will be doing anything he could to save him and their child.

Joseph's father knew what this meant, it meant that she will ask for help from him in exchange for a certain favor. This man was extremely sketchy and was such a criminal that even the Imperial army will focus everything if they knew that this person was within their city leaving no mistake to check and secure every spot he could escape to.

Joseph's father knew that if she went with him there was no way for him to find her since this man she went with was very cunning and intelligent that he escaped the Imperial army for decades.

All he could do was wait, counting down the seconds, minutes, hours it took for her to come back to him.

Exactly a day before Joseph's parents are forced to go to war, a group of robed men approached Joseph's father, "Your wife has already paid the price. You are to be sent to Roax, you cannot refuse this order and don't think about escaping since I brought someone that could make you kneel."

Joseph's father opposed these men trying to hold back his tears when he heard that she had already paid the price. "Why, Jean? There could've had been something else we could've had done!" He screamed from the top of his lungs making Joseph as a baby cry.

"Ken! Stop resisting! Even though you are at Intent Rank I brought people at Trace Rank! At least, follow your wife's dying wish. To let her son live in a place without war where he could live a simple life." Ken finally broke down in tears but still kept his fighting stance against 3 people at Trace Rank. Each one of these people could kill people at Intent Rank with a simple motion.

Ken, Joseph's father, however, was not as simple as other Intent Rank since his strength was above the norm and even had techniques that could rival Intent Trace Rankers at an almost equal fighting ground.

"Whispering Wisp Technique"

"Berserk"

"Full Strike"

"Wisp Swordsmanship"

A series of techniques were used by Ken to try to fight back. He knew that this was futile, he was just venting out his frustration that his wife had paid the price to save him and their child. Ken was solemn as he attacked the strongest looking man with his full attacks. It was time for revenge!

The strong looking man blocked Ken's attack and smirked as he didn't feel pain at all. Ken's attack seemed as if it was weak and made the rest of the Trace Rankers of the group to feel more relieved since they heard that he could go toe to toe against someone at Intent Trace Rank.

What happened next made them realize why Ken could go toe to toe against someone at Intent Trace Rank, Ken instantly disappeared and simultaneously appeared behind 3 robed figures and killed them without resistance. The pool of blood in the ground made them realize that this was a monster that the even the rumor underestimated.

The rest immediately put up their guard, they knew that if they let their guard down for even a single breath their heads will drop and their bodies chopped.

These men were not weak in fact that if they went against someone with the same rank they would win without question but they were facing this warrior by themselves.

The fight had taken 5 hours before Ken knelt down in exhaustion trying to stand up to strike once again. Ken no longer had the strength in his arms to strike even another strike, the men now only had slight injuries. They couldn't kill Ken as they were instructed to be sent to Roax by their leader.

The robed men had taken Ken and Joseph into an unknown desolate place filled with weeds that had an aura that made anyone near that place feel uncomfortable. This place was filled with spirits of vengeful warriors of the Imperial army and Heaven Defying Guild as they had once clashed in this area.

A mage at Intent Rank was waiting for them, there was a mysterious circle on the ground and the spirits seemed to gather around it. "It's time, let us begin."

A surge of power emanated from the circle as if swallowed the vengeful spirits and formed a vortex big enough for Ken and Joseph to pass through. The robed men didn't waste time and threw them into the vortex which was a gateway towards another realm, the realm Roax.

When Joseph and his father were forcefully sent to Roax, Joseph was just a little baby not old enough to talk or speak. This was an extremely difficult situation for Ken as he was weakened and he had Joseph to protect.

With a scream so loud that it scared every beast within the vicinity, Ken fainted as he had already used up all his strength to get revenge.

Joseph, on the other hand, was crying as he saw his father on the ground unconscious.
