Hayley skipped happily into the school gym on the Friday morning, and walked over to where Liam was as per usual, working on the cross trainer. He would have his long fringe flopped across his face and his earphones stuck into his ears. Hayley smiled as she stood in front of it. Liam looked at her with a smile, before slowing the machine down. He pulled out an earphone, and looked over his best friend with a smile.

“You alright Hayles? What’s made you so happy?” Liam asked with a laugh.

“I’m actually really good! You know the new guy, Zayn? He lives on Rhodes Avenue, the one next to us, so I thought I would invite him to a campout with us, Amaia, Niall and Louis? Do you think that’s a cool idea?” She explained happily, as she remembered her walk home with him last night. There was something about Zayn Malik, she didn’t know if it was those golden brown eyes, or just the way he always looked so…mysterious. She bit on her lip excitedly as she waited for Liam’s response. He raised an eyebrow, before leaning his arms on the machine and examining her face.

“Hayley Smith…you’re crushing on the new kid…” He laughed. Hayley quickly blushed.

“Oh my gosh, don’t be so silly…” She laughed, before winking to her best friend.

“He’s just…he’s so tall, and he has chocolate brown eyes, and his voice is so…” She finished the sentence in an excited squeal. For the first time in her life, she’d met a decent guy who may have liked her. Her, out of all people! She was just hoping that all of the nervous little laughs he did yesterday were out of flirting, and not just because she was coming over too strong.

“Well, I better make it my mission to get you both together then! But the campout sounds good! You get Amaia in, and I’ll work on the boys.” Liam smiled happily; glad to finally see his best friend so happy. She deserved a decent guy to make her feel beautiful, after everyone had made her feel so worthless over the past four years.

“You think he’ll really like me, Liam?” She asked, hopefully. Liam laughed and jumped off the cross trainer, aware of the time.

“Hayley, he’d be crazy not to have you! And if he doesn’t, I’m sure my crazy voodoo grandmother will have a couple of rohypnol pills lying around.” Liam laughed, throwing a towel over his shoulder. Hayley laughed.

“Oh my gosh, I bet she has loads of the stuff. Now hurry up and get changed, we’re already a little late for form!” She encouraged, looking at the time. Liam laughed as the two teenagers left the gym.

“Okay, okay! Wow, who knew you got so demanding when you had a crush!” Liam exclaimed, elbowing her. She rolled her eyes, before looking up at her best friend.

“Please, you haven’t seen demanding!” She teased, elbowing him back. Liam rolled his eyes and laughed. Hayley loved Liam to pieces, without him, her life would be so worthless. He was like the big brother she always wanted, and she was the sister he had always wanted. Since they were both only children, they naturally hit it off when, and she could tell they’d be friends till the end of time itself.

“Oh my God, have I ever told you how much I hate P.E?” Hayley groaned, as she and Amaia came back into the changing room after their gruelling netball lesson. Amaia swept her long hair up into a bun at the top of her head and rolled her eyes.

“All I want is to go home and have a shower!” Amaia groaned, before the girls’ changing room was soon full of year eleven girls all getting changed and moaning about B.O.

“I know! And Nicole and Kayleigh are doing my head in, I swear they kept talking and laughing about me all through the damn lesson.” Hayley replied, looking over at the two girls, opposite side of the changing room. The two girls laughed and quickly averted her gaze. There was something suspicious about them.

“Don’t you find it strange how they both needed to go to the toilet at the same time?” Amaia asked, pulling on her school shirt. Hayley nodded and tried to forget it, as she pulled up her clear tights and black school skirt.

“Secret lesbians, I suppose.” Hayley sighed, with a smirk. She was having an alright day, and she didn’t want anything to ruin that, especially two little hoes. Amaia laughed and rolled her eyes. Hayley couldn’t help but laugh too, as she pulled on her white school top and then started to button up all of the buttons. She didn’t notice Amaia looking at her in disgrace.

“Holy fuck!” Amaia let out, staring at what looked like Hayley’s chest. Hayley instantly felt confused.

“Urmm…Amaia, why are you staring at my-” Hayley started before she looked down and gasped. Over the front of her school shirt, in thick, bold, black permanent marker was the word ‘WHORE’.

“Who wrote that?!” Amaia asked, before they both looked over to face Nicole and Kayleigh, who were watching and laughing, as well as the rest of the changing rooms. The girls were all laughing, and Hayley quickly pulled her blazer off her peg and put it over herself, before looking at Amaia in embarrassment.

“I don’t have anything to cover it up!” Hayley whimpered, as the two girls quickly grabbed their things and darted from the changing rooms, as camera phones started flashing.

“Neither do I! Use a folder, and then go to lost property or something?” Amaia suggested, as Hayley felt her cheeks flush red. She shook her head in anger.

“I bet Harry put them up to this! I just know it was!” Hayley replied angrily, as the bell for lunch sounded. The two girls went outside and sat on a bench, Hayley still covering the front of her T-shirt with her blazer. Amaia shook her head and looked at Hayley.

“Okay, I am getting involved this time.” Amaia told her, sternly.
