Both stared at each other despite Deidara seeming to entertain the idea that seemed like actual nonsense. He didn't think Sasuke would ask him for something like this, but he must've been desperate for it.

"Sasuke... I'm only just a student; I can't help treat your son. I barely know anything."

"You're the only cardiologist I know."

"The problem is that I'm not a cardiologist—I'm not even yet a medic, Sasuke. I won't be able to identify what Menma has. I understand that you're desperate, that you need a solution, but... I think I'm not the one who'll be able to help you."

"Then what do I do? I need a cardiologist and I don't know of any other. I don't want to have to go to Kabuto or Orochimaru, neither Naruto."

"Naruto would've been a good option," Deidara stated. "He's the father and perhaps you couldn't tell him then because of his wife, but it seems... he's no longer with her. What's stopping you now?"

"Pride," Sasuke stated. "I don't know, I don't want to have to depend on him or anyone. Not even my own father or my brother."

"Your brother would give you the money."

"And I'd be putting him in problems with my dad. He'd be capable of taking his job away from the company so long as he couldn't help me. I'm not going to do that to my brother, I appreciate him too much for that."

"There's a solution, or well... there could be one but I'm not convinced that it would work; it's just an idea."

"Anything," Sasuke said. "I'd hold on to a burning nail, I assure you."

"And this one is burning. I can't assure anything but... perhaps I can get the cardiologist that I'm working with to take a look at the case. I don't think he'll take it but... it'll be difficult and perhaps he won't even revise it, he'll probably leave me to study it and not help me with it."

"Can you try?"

"Yes," Deidara affirmed. "It'll be complicated but I'll try to get him to know about your case and see if he can give me an idea of what your son could have."

"I appreaciate it so much, Deidara."

It was barely six in the morning, yet, in that room on the other side of the hallway, Deidara was going over the documents that Sasuke had given him as he drank his coffee. He'd been on guard for about twelve hours and he only thought about going home. He had had so much work that day that now as he finally found a slot [of time], he had decided to grab the documents and give them a glance, more moved by curiosity than anything.

"How long have you been working?" He heard a voice behind him, one that surprised him and made him stop drinking his coffee.

"Sorry... about twelve hours," He tried to smile despite the exhaustion noticeable on his face.

"Emergencies?' The man asked once again with a faint smile.

"Yeah, I got emergencies today," Deidara stated.

"You should go rest."

"I imagine, but what really interests me is you," Deidara smiled. "And it turns out that you start at seven in the morning to receive visits, so I want to stay a while."

"Are you specializing in cardiology?"

"Yes, it's what I want, but us interns are moved all over the hospital so we could learn."

"Yes, the first years are complicated," Minato smiled. "What are you reading?"

"A case a friend of mine sent. His son is sick and... honestly, I don't even know where to start or what to look for, he has a cardiac problem and I just wanted to take a look at the case in case I could help him."
