I pulled up to Cha and Mel house after dropping the kids off at school since he had hit me up. I got out locking my Range doors I walked up to the door and walked in I closed the door.
"MEL WHERE YOU AT," I called out as I walked through the foyer.
Mel came down the hall.
"Keep your voice down Cha still sleep."
"My fault."
"Follow me."
I followed Mel down the hall we walked into his mancave he closed the door I walked around to the couch and sat down.
"So wassup what made you call me over here this early in the morning?"
"You know me and Cha 11 year anniversary is coming up."
"Yeah I know fought Trav and Smoke over the best man position."
"Yo I remember that they was too hot I picked you," Mel said as he laughed.
"Don't get me wrong I love our big bros but nothing would've gotten done with those two goof balls."
"True but back to what I saying I wanna do something special for her."
"Like?"
"Surprising her to a trip to Antigua."
"Okay that's wassup."
"You already know that you and K coming along."
"Okay."
"I would invite our brothers but they're single and what we'll be doing is for couples and I wouldn't want them to feel left out."
"You thought of that or when you called them they said no because they're single."
"Okay so they said no because they're single and don't wanna be around us lovey dovey couples."
"Yeah that sounds more like them."
"Right and I'm going to surprise Cha with the renewal of our vows."
"Okay that's dope."
"Yeah it is and it'll be more surprises."
"Alright."
"So wassup with you and K finally tying the knot?"
"Mel we just got together."
"But y'all known each other since y'all was kids you already know that you should've gotten with K once y'all gotten older."
"That's what you and everyone else say but I didn't want to ruin our friendship."
"By what? Y'all getting together nah I don't believe that because me and Cha started off as best friends and now we're married with 3 kids."
"I'm not rushing to get married to K."
"Don't you think that it's time y'all got history and I mean history."
"I know we got history trust me I've been there."
"Don't tell me the thought haven't ran across your mind a time or two," Mel asked with raised eyebrows.
"I mean yeah it has but there's no rush to it though."
"Alright Aug I hear you."
"But I do got something to tell you."
"Wassup?"
"I'm adopting Ky."
"You're adopting Khari but not ready for marriage yet yeah that's logical."
"We came to the agreement on it last night and Ky called me dad after I laid him down yesterday afternoon when they came back from shopping."
"Please help me understand you right now you're adopting Khari but not getting married to K?"
"Not right now Mel our relationship is still fresh I am going propose to her she's not going to stay single for forever."
Mel sighed.
"Aight I can live with what you're saying for right now."
"You don't got no choice but to."
"Mhmm."
"Let me get up out of here and head back to the house."
"Aight."
We dapped each other up then I walked out of Mel's mancave heading towards the front door.
Few hours later

Aug walked into the living room and sat next to me.
"Cha and Mel 11 year anniversary is coming up."
"I know I'm well aware what are they doing."
"They're going to Antigua and we're invited."
"Okay just us?"
"Yeah Trav and Smoke don't want to be around us couples."
"Okay."
"Also before I came home I met with my lawyer."
"About adopting Ky?"
"Yeah and after talking with him about your ex being dead and you having full custody and the adoption papers shouldn't take long for the judge to sign them."
"Okay that's good."
"Did you talk to his aunt?"
I sighed.
"I did and she and her family doesn't want anything to do with Ky."
"All because he didn't want to go to Memphis with her."
"Yep and honestly I really don't give two fucks because all Ky knows his my side of the family not Julius side."
"And that's understandable."
"I know it is but when are we going to Antigua."
"Their anniversary is the 30th of this month so probably like a week before their anniversary or something but I don't know I gotta hit Mel back."
"Okay."
"I'm about to wash the cars."
"Okay."
Aug pecked my lips he stood up and walked out of the living room I grabbed my laptop and unlocked it to start some online shopping for this trip to Antigua even though I have clothes I need something new for this trip.
