Even in the wide first-class seats, Harry felt cramped.
He had never, in his seven hundred years plus, flown on a plane. There really hadn't been a point to it. He could run from place to place, and he didn't need to breathe, which would make crossing the ocean by foot a piece of cake.
"Stop thinking," Harry grunted softly at the voice. Alex had insisted that they sit next to each other, but Harry hadn't really complained about the arrangement. It beat sitting next to the human, Bella, and her incredibly twitchy vampire puppy. "It will give you wrinkles if you continue to frown like that."
"If something as insignificant as frowning will give me wrinkles, then by that logic, all of us would look like we had come from the underworld." Harry murmured. Alex let loose a small snort and crossed his legs.
"Maybe we do come from the underworld." Harry chuckled at the slightly whimsical pitch to his tone.
"So tell me about yourself," Harry said, reclining back into his overly plush plane seat. "How old are you?"
"That's a loaded question, Harry." Alex smiled. "Which answer do you want?"
"Both."
"From what I know, which isn't much sadly, I was born in 1901 in Mississippi. From there, everything gets pretty hazy. The first thing that I remember is waking up alone." Harry hummed lowly, showing that he was listening.
"Sounds difficult." Alex nodded his head.
"It wasn't easy. I was alone with only my sight to keep me company." Alex sighed. "At least until I met Jasper, that is."
"Who is Jasper?" Harry inquired, taking his chance to stare out the window. Darkness stretched for miles out, and Harry could only stare in awe. He had actually never seen the ocean. Lakes and river, yeah, but never the ocean.
"He is my mate." The way Alex said 'my mate' made Harry look back to the other immortal. Alex's eyes had clouded over again and Harry had no clue what to do.
"Um, Alex?" He tried quietly. No response came, and Harry sat back again, deciding to wait it out.
"I'm sorry, I just had a vision." Alex sounded tired, like he was just waking up. He sounded like he was still in the thralls of the vision, so Harry chose to stay quiet. Eventually, his eyes cleared up again, but in their wake, a sparkling smile took over the immortal's face.
"Do you get those a lot?" Alex smirked slightly on Harry's direction.
"I get a vision every time someone changes their mind. I mostly focus on family though. What about you? What can you do with your powers?" Harry chuckled.
"'Powers' sounds like an overestimation, really. As a human, I had shapeshifting tendencies. I could alter my appearance in any way I wanted, and over time, I figured out how to switch my species as well." Alex looked thoughtful.
"You can shift your species too?" Harry nodded.
"I can, but I will save that little show for some other time." Harry shrugged in his seat.
"What else can you do? Can you switch genders?" Harry sat for a moment, his eyes closed.
"Yeah, I can do that," he admitted. "It has never been my favorite thing to do, I would much rather stay male. But for those days that I feel like switching it up, I would roam the castle as a woman."
