#6 Percy's POV Sh*t Goes Down Before School Starts

Percy's POV

I get to school and smile when I see Nico Di Angelo waiting for me.

He leans against the double doors and flashes a grin at me.

"Morning, Perce."

My heart flutters in my chest as he says my nickname.

I take a deep breath.

"Good morning, Neeks."

He giggles than, grabs my hand.

"I missed you."

I sigh.

His hand feels warm in mine.

Mine are freezing.

It's only September 8th or something like that, and already the weather is cold again.

Even the trees, are now rapidly losing their leaves and becoming more like skeletons than anything else.

"I missed you, too.", I say, looking up at him, than down at our clasped hands.

It's no later than 6:00 am, but already I can't wait for the school day to begin.

Being with him here, is something I wish could go on forever.

But, it can't.

Annabeth will probably come back today.

She will be so happy to see me.

As will I.

Maybe though, I wasn't exactly thinking that day last summer when, we got together.

Maybe, I shouldn't have kissed her.

But, how could that have all been stopped?

We were alone, at her parent's cottage.

We had no clue what would happen there.

At least, I didn't.

Now, I feel my eyes brim with tears.

Nico notices and looks at me, worriedly.

"What's wrong, Perce?"

I can't speak, I can't breathe.

I don't wanna tell him the truth, as to why I made him meet me here so early in the morning.

But I know, if I don't, he might resent me if he ever found out.

I couldn't have that.

"Thanks for meeting me here, Neeks. I know how hard it must be to get up this early."

He shrugs his shoulders and smiles.

"It's no problem really, Perce."

I shake my head.

"No, it is. I don't deserve someone as wonderful as you. I'm really sorry about everything. Now, I wish that I'd never kissed her because, than I could be with you."

He nods, but I see tears brimming in his own dark eyes.

"It's okay, Percy. I love you so much, so I accept what is best for you."

I feel a bolt of anger rush through me.

"She's not what's best for me! You are! Can't you see that?! I am in love with you, Nico Di Angelo! She can NEVER be the best for me!", I yell, my face getting hot.

Suddenly, I collapse than onto the pavement by the doors.

Sobs wracking my body.

Through blurry vision, I see him get down and kneel beside me, taking my face in his hands.

When he's kneeling, Nico is right at my eye-level.

I sob harder.

"Shhhh Perce, it's okay. I'm right here. Shhhh. I love you so much, Percy. Please don't cry, everything's gonna be okay.", he says staring at me.

He than hugs me to him, and rubs my back in small circles.

"I'm right here, Perce. I'm not going anywhere."

His words are comforting, and slowly my sobs quiet down.

"Nico, I-"

But, I don't get to finish because, he kisses me.

For a moment, I just sit there, shocked.

Nico Di Angelo kissed me?!

Wow.

Quickly, I kiss him back and he pulls me closer to him, kissing me harder.

I feel his tongue run over my closed lips, asking for entrance.

I grant it.

Now, we're both sitting on the pavement, kissing passionately.

I don't even notice, that it has started raining.

That is, until he finally pulls away, his black hair soaked.

He smiles at me and I smile back.

I still can't believe it.

I just had my first kiss with a guy outside in the rain.

My first REAL kiss.

We're still sitting there on the pavement, staring at each other, when I here Jason yell at us: "Hey you guys, hurry up! Class is about to start!"

We bolt through the doors and run down the hall to our lockers.

I watch Percy as he heads to his locker, hair still soaked.

His t-shirt is also soaked so, that I can clearly see the muscles in his back.

"Hey, lover boy!", Jason yells again.

I jump and quickly gather my books for class.

As I walk done the hall, Jason smirks knowingly at me.

"Shut up, Grace!", I yell and punch him lightly in the arm, a grin on my face.

He laughs and than walks quickly down the hall to his first class.

Honestly though, he's such a fanboy....
