At the Academy

Nishikata sat in the classroom and wrote, as suddenly in class entered Takagi. She looked very lousy and her face made it easy to see that she was very ill.
- Takagi-Chan? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you... - the teacher asked, but Takagi interrupted him.

- No. I'm sorry I'm late.

- It's okay. Step inside.
Takagi sat next to Nishikata and took out a notebook, began to write off from the Board. Nishikata noticed that she was ill and tried to find out how is she.
- Takagi. Are you feeling all right?
- Yes. Leave me alone.
- Hm... (What with her? Yesterday she was energetic and cheerful, but now it's like she's not herself. Maybe she needs a little encouragement. Hm...) Hey, Takagi.
- What? - Takagi looked at Nishikata, and he made her funny face.
Unfortunately, it didn't help. Takagi did not even smile. But, the teacher smiled, which struck Nishikata on the head with a ruler.
- One more remark and I will beat you on the head with a ruler every day!
- Yes, sir. Not anymore.
Everyone in the class started laughing, but Takagi continued to write with a depressed face.

When the bell rang, everyone rushed to the dining room except Takagi. Nishikata sat down next to her and tried to talk.
- Hey. How are you? Is something wrong?
- No. Everything is normal. You can go.
- Are you sure? I'll take you home, if you need.
- No, don't. I just need some sleep. - said Takagi while she put her head on the desk and went to sleep.
- *sigh * Okay. Can I get you anything?
- nope.
Nishikata went to the dining room.

Nowhere

"What? Again? Where the hell am I?!"

- Hey! - I shouted. Anybody here? Reply me!

But there was none. I was alone. I decided to try to go further and accidentally saw a flashlight; I took it with me and continued to go. It was so dark and cold here that i was shaking with cold. It was pitch black everywhere and nothing could be seen; I kept going forward, trying to find some way out, but it was nowhere.

"Why do I always get here? What kind of place is this? Some kind of purgatory? No. It's stupid. But i have to keep going. I feel my legs give way."

But no matter how much I go. I did not feel that I was getting closer to the goal, but on the contrary, I was not getting closer. I keep walking... And, all of a sudden...

- N-Nishikata? Nishikata! Over here! - I tried to scream for him to see me, but.....
- T-Takagi? - asked Nishikata, holding the hand of the girl.
- Y-Yuki? What is this girl? And... And why are you holding her hand?!
- Oh, that. Well... you know... We need to break up with you.
- WHAT?!?! You... You don't... You're not serious, right?!
- Serious. I'm just... I'm tired. I'm tired of you making fun of me. I'm tired of constantly reassuring you. I'm tired of being your errand boy. I want something more than that.
- Now, you understand, girly? - suddenly this girl said.
- Shut up!
- Hey! Show respect to my girlfriend! - said Nishikata and punched me in the face.
- Ow! You... You what?! I, I thought there was something between us! Oh, you... You...
- Come on, tell me! To my face!
- You... You bastard! - I broke down my patience and slapped him.
Suddenly everything started to change abruptly. Floors, walls, and ceiling became blood-red color. Fire started everywhere. Nishikata and this girl started to shake and at some point, they started to laugh; very much to laugh. They turned to me and looked right into my soul, with their eyes. These eyes, they were full of horror, pain and suffering; Nishikata's eyes were red with bloody tears dripping from them, of the same color; his smile, from ear to ear; it was so frighteningly realistic that I stood there and could not move. He looked at me with his terrible smile of pain and suffering, and began to laugh; this laughter, this laughter I was constantly harassed.
The girl looked at me without a smile, but with white eyes. She stood and pointed at me and didn't even think to move. Her hair had turned from brown to grey. Her head started twitching constantly, and there was a huge cut on her neck.
I couldn't move, and at that moment, the girl screamed so loudly that my ears nearly bled. I immediately ran away, and she continued to scream in my direction.
As I ran, strange things began to appear on the walls; they were like people writhing in pain; they were very much like me and Nishikata. I ran into some room and quickly hid behind the boxes.
