I was rudely woken up by my obnoxiously loud alarm which displayed "7:02", I jumped out of bed, causing Nora to fall off in the process.
Soon we were dressed and out of the hotel headed to the museum where the display was supposed to take pace in 2 weeks.
The streets of Istanbul were lined with small stalls selling shawls and what not to protect us from this cold weather.
On arriving, we had to go through a security check before entering the beautiful place. Walls were intricately designed with golden patterns that told stories, stories of an 18th century Istanbul.
While I was dumbfounded by the sight before me, Nora nudged my shoulder, as she pointed towards a big hall in whose middle was a glass box, at the doorway to the hall, which seemed like the centre was a tape that read 'under construction'.
In the hall were people adjusting lights that I presume were to decorate the centre piece, the emerald.
I slowly took out my phone and snapped pictures of the place trying to look less suspicious and more touristy, as Nora posed for me.
Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder, on turning I saw a small man in a paid vest with a tiny moustache giving him an air of authority, "Please refrain from taking pictures" , he said with an intimidating smile, that told me I'd be in serious trouble if I disobeyed.
I murmured a sorry as I put my phone back in, hopefully I've taken enough pictures for the time being. Nora politely smiled at the man as she came walking over to me.
So as to not arouse further suspicions, Nora and I walked around the museum for a little more time before leaving and going to get lunch from a restaurant a few blocks away.
Back at the room, I got all the pictures printed and we sat on the bed with them arranged ahead of us.
"They were setting up 5 security check stations, it won't be too easy getting past them. We can't do the robbery in the morning when it's running, we'll have to do it when the museum's shut." Nora said.
"Since they're bringing the emerald and setting it up the previous evening, I feel like then would be our best chance. We can cause a minor distraction which will hopefully lead to a slight commotion, we can then swoop in and replace it and boom." I continued, " is the main entrance the only one? There should be at least 2 more according to what I found online, one in the right wing, and one facing east. I didn't catch sight of either, we should make a visit a few days later with a blue print of the building. We should also keep a look out for-"
I stopped as a knock sounded on our door, I jumped out of bed and headed towards the door with Nora following behind.
On looking through the peephole I saw none other than Taehyung on the other side, peeking as though he could look into our room as well. I pushed Nora in front as I went back into our room "I can't deal with him right now", I said plopping onto the bed, looking at the pictures hoping to find some minor detail that we might've happened to miss.
Nora shot me a glare before opening the door "Hey"
"Would the both of you like to join us for dinner?" Taehyung asked.
Nora looked back at me, as I mouthed a big 'no' to her, when Taehyung said "It's on us", to which Nora immediately faced him with a wide smile. "Sure, it'll be our pleasure"
"Okay we'll pick you up in thirty, oh and um Nora? Wear something cute" he said as he winked and walked away.
A blushing Nora turned to me "What the hell was that?"
