Rewind:

"Wait, wait, wait... a blond man with slicked-back hair, an old fashioned sailor hat, and a cape?" Canada asked.

"Y-yeah, why?"

He exchanged looks with America.

"We should notify the others," America said, "This is important."

Canada then looked back at me after nodding approval to America's statement.

"That man was Holy Rome, the lost empire that we are looking for," Canada answered, "And that was the most we had heard from his existence since two hundred years ago."

Sarah's POV

~

I wasn't exactly expecting a minor person from my dream to be some missing empire that hadn't been heard from for a few hundred years. That statement may as well have been considered invalid, because I hadn't really been expecting a lot of things lately. Especially the presence of magic floating inside of me. The thought made me shiver but I showed no sign of discomfort.

America already spoke to a few countries, including what seemed to be England.

While America was on the phone, Canada had come over to me to explain why Holy Rome was being searched for.

According to him, this missing empire should have already been dead. Through many hypothesis, he had secretly faked his death to live, as if he knew he would have died without doing so. Canada also explained that empires usually are weaker than countries and died quickly in war. Being about the same age as his closest childhood friend, Italy, and still being alive after a big war wasn't exactly normal. This, of course, became a suspicion.

"So how are you going to find him?" I asked.

"Honestly, I don't have the slightest idea."

His answer made me stay quiet.

The sound of America's bickering on the phone started to got on my nerves.

"No, I'm the awesome hero," America complained to whichever country was on the other line bothering him.

I rolled my eyes.

'So predictable,' I thought.

Canada looked over at me with a smile thy showed his contained concern, to which it looked like he was trying to hide.

"Are you alright? This is a lot of information to take in within a day, eh?"

I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Just... Thanks for everything, Canada," I told him.

Well, I mostly just wanted to try the whole calling him 'Canada' thing and thank him, so this was the perfect opportunity.

America finally got off the phone and walked towards us.

"Alright, he says nothing came up bad yet. He just says you're very... inhumanly powerful... Which is totally awesome!" America exclaimed.

A smile flickered across my face.

"Thanks for the update, America."

"No need to thank me, I'm just the amazing hero."

I laughed at how cute America was childishly, and how he was just naturally the way he was.

America took my laughter the wrong way. The smile on his face turned into something that looked like sadness and confusion.

"I... am the hero...right?"
