Meeting Daniel Seavey

Standing at my door was not only Daniel, but his friends too. I had to blink a couple times. I couldn't believe that my crush, along with his friends came to my house. " H..Hi," was all I managed to say.
" Hey. We just wanted to come see how you're doing." Jonah told me.
" I'm good. You wanna come in? "
" Sure." Daniel motioned for the others to go ahead of him. He looked up at me and smiled. I went into my mom's room and told her
" Do you wanna ask if they want to stay for dinner?"
" Sure." I yelled for someone to come because I'm too lazy. Daniel ran over and I told him to ask them. He came back with a nod. " Cool." We joined the rest of them on the couch and played Uno with the cards from the coffee table. I won twice, Daniel once, and Jack won three times. I asked my mom what we were having. Apparently it was burritos.

After sitting at the table, she handed use each a plate. She placed two on each plate then sat down. Jonah's were gone in a matter of seconds. I looked down and realized that I finished mine, too. One of the boys yelled, " Burrito eating contest!" Corbyn got up and grabbed two more with my mom's permission.
" Go!" Zach yelled in my ear. We both had finished at the same time. Daniel pronounced a tie, but we weren't going to do it again. He scratched the back of his neck. He's just so cute. While my mind had gone elsewhere, the boys had to go.

After cleaning up, I found a piece of paper on the table. It read, Daniel (***-***-****). I could not believe he gave me his number. I felt like passing out. I screamed a little in my head. I pulled my phone put of my pocket and messaged him. Hey:) I got your paper.
Him: I was hoping :)
Me: Very smart ;)
Him: I know.
Me: I was kidding.
Him: I know that, too:)

It continued like that until.
Him: Can I tell you something?
Me: Anything:)
Him: I just wanted to say that I like you. Like, like you. I know we haven't really talked much or anything...
Me: That's so sweet:) I like you, too. You may be surprised, but I've had a crush on you for a while.
Him: That's good. ;)
Me: I guess

We continued to message each other for the rest of the night. My mom told me that I wouldn't be going to school for the next week. I tried to convince her that I can go, but she denied it. I messaged Daniel to let him know.
Me: my mom said I'm not going to school the rest of this week :(
Him: That's okay :) I'll see you next week. And I can message or call you;)
Me: Thank you 💜
Him: Your very welcome :):):):):):);)

* The next Week*
I put on my single shoe and crutched from my room to the kitchen. Mom told me to hurry. I grabbed my bag and hung it over my shoulder.

The ride to school was pretty short; only like ten minutes. I couldn't wait to see Daniel again. I was a little bit nervous, but I didn't know why. Maybe because our relationship has changed?
