(Since this is the first chapter, it is a bit more of a filler. It gets better towards the end.)

"Gee, Holly. I really don't give a shit". To any other person, that might be rude. But she was my best friend, so she just rolled her eyes. "Fine. But I'm telling you, he was totally checking you out." She said with a smirk. The bell rang, giving me the chance to stand up and ignore her to make a point.
That was the last class of the day, so I headed to my locker to get my jacket. Occasionally, a few people would stop and say Hello. A few just smiled, but I knew all of the ones who did. So I didn't mind.
I sighed as I made my way to the door. It almost ruined my entire day when my mom texted me to let me know I would be walking home today. Although it was no surprise coming from her. It was a little chilly out, not enough for me to mind. I only had a mile walk, anyways. I didn't like walking home, in fact I hated it. That's why it always took me so long.
I took the opportunity to look at my phone and answer some texts as I slowly made my way home. One text in particular left me a little disturbed. Holly asked me what was up, apparently I had seemed off. And to be honest, I was. It's not something that can just be put in a sentence though. I've had this awful feeling lately. Like someone was watching me. Like someone was intently invested in me. Invested in my every move. It started when there was someone outside our house, with a flashlight. I was able to let myself think it was just a lost neighbor. Then someone seemed to be following me whenever I went anywhere. But when I turned, no one was there. And to top it off, a handful of numbers have been calling me. But when I answer, they listen to me for a bit then hang up. It seemed like something new everyday. It's had me on edge, seriously on edge. 'I'm okay, Love.'. I wasn't about to bother her.

It was the same old shows that I had to choose from. I've already seen each episode of Grey's Anatomy multiple time. Same with Criminal Minds. Same with every goddamn thing. I sighed as I decided to turn to YouTube, just turning on the first recommended video. It was a Shane Dawson video I've already seen, I saw the word Galaxy. Yeah, that's Shane. I was getting pretty tired, who isn't after a day of Hell? I laid my head back against the top of the couch and just let the TV fill the room. I had been dat dreaming of my bed, but I wasn't about to walk up all of those damn stairs. I didn't think I would actually doze off, although I wouldn't mind if I did. It didn't take long before my eyes were closed, and I was fast asleep.
-
My eyes fluttered open. I could have sworn I had heard something. The TV was still going, and I must have fallen asleep. I took the remote from my lap and paused the TV. "Hello? Mom? Mike?". I guess I just woke up on my own. I sat forward, wiping my eyes. I stood up, stretching like I had been possessed. I reached back to take my phone out of my pocket. 7:39. Eh, got a decent few hours there. I picked my feet up, heading to the kitchen. I doubt there was actually anything in there, never is. Mike has the right idea to always be gone. Maybe his friends feed him. Either way, sure beats the hell out of being here. Especially when mom's home.

I decided on just a bottle of water and a piece of old pizza. It probably wouldn't kill me. I sat them down on the counter and moved everything over so I could hop up there once I was planted on the counter after a deep struggle, I grabbed my pizza, devouring it. It was quiet enough for me to start thinking about how sad this must look. Or how every night looks. I wish I was out somewhere. Anywhere but here. Especially when mom gets home. Maybe I can go spend the night with Holly. Crash.
The sound of broken glass could be heard throughout the entire house. It didn't sound big, maybe a vase or something. Whatever it was, it was enough to make me drop my pizza. So I was pissed. I hopped down from the counter and stomped into the living room, expecting to see a wasted version on my mom on the floor. But I got there, and there was a broken glass on the floor, without a culprit. I stood there for a second. "Mom?" No answer. "Mike?" No answer. "This isn't funny" I said a bit loudly. This was when the chills ran down my back. I knew someone was in here, didn't stop to think about who it could be. "I'm not picking this shit up" I said angrily. Right after, there was a loud knock at the door. It sounded like a cop, it was enough to make me almost scream. This just made this moment terrifying. I slowly made my way to the door. It was dark out, so I couldn't see through the peephole. I turned on the porch light and opened the door. It was a tall, unfamiliar man. He was quite intimidating. "Can I help you?" I asked softly. He looked behind me and nodded his head once. Before I could turn around, someone's hand came up from behind me with a rag, and placed it over my face.

'We're sorry to interrupt your evening, but there is breaking news on an Amber alert. Local teenager Cassandra Teil has been reported missing, and was last seen walking home from school. She was wearing dark jeans, and a blue sweatshirt. If anyone has any information about her whereabouts, or the events of her disappearance, please notify the authorities.'
