Another day, another question from one of the family members. Why couldn't they just leave you alone? Tex didn't sit with you today, in fact you hadn't seen him the morning. Not that you worried, you were appreciating the moment. You were sitting on the porch, the little girl sat to. Just to keep and eye out on you. The hot heat in the air, Texas was much hotter than you expected and you didn't like the heat.

"I'm dying," You said, fanning yourself.

"Silly, just go and take a walk. Not to far though." Babi said.

Really? But how would she know that you could escape? Sure there were traps, but you could avoid them. You decided to take the opportunity, getting up you jumped off the porch.

"You gonna follow me?" You asked.

Babi shook you head. "Sally hates walks."

You began to walk into the woods, it was certainly much cooler in here than out in the sun. You breathed in the fresh air.

Tex was finished with Tink and that chainsaw, leaving the room in a huff. He wanted to see you, since he hadn't done in the morning. Seeing the front door open he went out to the porch to see, Babi combing Sally's hair.

"Babi, where's (Y/n)?" Tex asked, walking out on the porch.

Babi pointed in the direction you walked in. Into the woods, to cool down. Tex was about to rush off, but Tink had grabbed his overalls.

"She's not going to escape Tex, give her some space." Tink said.

"But the traps."

Tink rolled his eyes. "She's a smart girl."

Tex sighed, shaking his brothers grip off. Babi and Tink exchanged looks between the two.

"Alright if she doesn't come back, in the next half hour. Then you can go after her."

"Fifteen." Tex tried to push the limits.

Tink agreed to half the time, telling the two of them to come back inside. As it was past three in the afternoon, and in the summer. The nights were going to be light, so even if you came back late, it wouldn't be dark. The cowboy sat in the living, fiddling with his hat trying to pass time. For there was no jobs to be done.

"Hopefully Alfredo has brought a few different things home. We've got to make this meat last us." Tink said, putting his apron on.

"I hope Alfredo gets killed." Tex mumbled.

"Don't talk about your brother like that." He warned.

Tex looked up at the clock, only five minutes had gone by. Which felt like forever, but you still hasn't come home and why was that? Did you actually leave? Or worse? Another five minutes had gone by, and he couldn't stand it anymore. The cowboy chucked his hat on the floor, and ran outside. Tink shouted at him, but Tex ran into the woods. Calling out your name.

You had made it back to the house, feeling a lot better from the walk. Knowing you could of left but didn't as well...no you couldn't have feelings for the cowboy.

"Hello," You greeted, as you walked into the kitchen.

"Oh boy, Tex just went out for you." Tink replied, as he went to look outside. "Oh well, these brothers always get lost before dinner."

You sat down on the sofa, noticing his hat. Holding it in your hands, it was quite a big hat. Tink sat down on the other sofa.

"Tex, ain't his real name ain't it?" You asked.

Tink shook his head. "It's Edward, but he don't like it."

Just then Alfredo came in, he wasn't happy. Tink stood up from the sofa. The younger brother didn't acknowledge you two, just mumbling to himself.

"Well?" Tink asked.

"What?!" Alfredo asked.

"Did you get what I asked?"

"No, I'm thought Tex was doing that." The younger brother lied. "I'm kidding."

Alfredo got to bags from the porch, both filled with food. No doubt it was mainly canned foods. Capturing people must of been hard, as hardly anyone came along the roads. Maybe they weren't cannibals exactly since they ate normal food.

"Right well, I'll start on the dinner then." Tink said.

Alfredo came over, but kept his distant. You avoided the eye contact, hoping he wouldn't say anything.

"Where's Tex?" He asked.

You shrugged, finding it odd to see him care about his brother.

"Tex can miss his meal, and Alfredo get the other two."

"Whatever." He muttered back.

Your first time sitting at the table with the brothers, luckily not having to eat human for dinner. Though it was also the first proper meal you had in days.
Potatoes, carrots, broccoli and a slice of human meat. Was dished up, the two young brothers complaining about the vegetables.

"Nothing goes to waste so eat it." Tink reminded.

"Vegetables are healthy as well." You pointed out.

"Oh so she's smart and pretty." Alfredo complimented, Tink kicked him under the table.

Soon enough Tex had come in, disappointed to see his family eating without him, but very happy to see you.

"(Y/n)" He beamed, sitting in the wooden chair next to you. "Glad your safe and sound." The cowboy took the spice of meat from you, eating with his fingers.

You rolled your eyes, not cause of the meat but cause of his attitude and looks from the weird brother. You tried to ignore the lot of them and eat your dinner. Wanting to avoid Tex even more.
