Chapter One:
I sighed, my glasses slipping from my nose. The black, 'geek' glasses framed my face and hid my pale blue eyes. My light brown hair was pulled into a braid down my back, the braid falling around midback. I was wearing a purple and while stripped shirt, black skinny jeans, purple and white Nike's and my black work apron.
Today I was working the cash register because Maggie, our manager, decided that I needed to get more used to large crowds. Little did she know when over fifty people come into a room, I become a bloody mess.
Really, I do. I get jittery and my hands begin to shake.
"Louise!" screamed the familiar voice of my friend, Ashlynn. "Louise! Guess what!"
Ashlynn was a five foot two blonde with blue eyes and rosey cheeks. She wore something similar to me(the uniform was purple shirt and shoes with black pants). If you saw her, she would remind you of a cheerleader with her pigtails and ribbons. She was extremely preppy, too much for my taste, but she kept me happy and up beat, so I guess I needed her.
"Yes, Ash?" I replied as I rolled my eyes. "You okay? I don't need to call the cops do I?"
She shook her head furiously and squealed. "You will never guess who is coming to watch you perform tonight!" She began to jump around furiously, still squealing. I raised an eyebrow.
"Who?" I asked. I'd regret asking.
"ONE DIRECTION!" she yelled, her face becoming red at the thought of the boyband.
She had been obsessed with those five since they were put together for the X-Factor two years ago. I personally thought they were okay, didn't really like the style of music. Of course, being a performer in a small little coffee shop like this, I had to know at least one or two of their songs. Ashlynn insisted I learn 'What makes you beautiful', 'One thing', and(for when I sang in a group, which was rare), 'Up All Night'.
I rolled my eyes at her. "Oh dear, what am I going to do? OH! I know!" My voice was very sarcastic, the invisible venom rolling off my tounge easily. "I'll probably have to do What Makes You Beautiful because of all the Directioners or whatever here."
"And because they're here!" She squealed again, right in my ear. She got vey excited, her eyes going wide like a baby deer's.
"Yes. Yes. And because they're coming...wait? Here?" My voice cracked on my last word. I couldn't speak any more words as my mouth hung open.
"Yea! What are you, daft? They're right there, plain sight!" she replied, pointing to five young men in beanies and sunglasses.
I shook my head. "No, they don't look like One Direction, they look like five shady guys in beanies and glasses. Honestly, Ash, get you're mind away from that band for at least five seconds? Please? You're beginning to hallucinate."
"OHMIGOD! Harry BLOODY STYLES is coming this way!!! I might faint!!! Oh...umm...you take his order! I'll...err...make it! Yeah!" She ran away towards the coffee making machine, marker in hand to write.
Oh lord, here we go.
I looked backed at where Ashlynn had pointed. One of the five lads was walking towards the register, medium brown curls tucked into a loose gray beanie. His eyes were hidden behind silver aviator sunglasses, but through the sucky lenses I could see a hint of green or hazel. A smirk was plastered on his angelic looking face-WAIT! How the hell can I tell?
"Hi." I said in a very monotone voice as he stopped infront of me. "Welcome to Maggie's Cafe. My name is Lousie, how can I happily serve you today?"
"Umm...let's see, I would like a....ummm....large carmel frappachino and a...LOU! WHADDA YOU WANT?" he screamed, turning away from me.
"CARROTS!" replied he who was named 'Lou'. I'm guessing his name was Louis.
I rolled my eyes. "We have carrot muffins, surprisngly." He raised an eyebrow at me and I nodded.
"Alright, two of those and what I said earlier. That should d-" He was interuppted by another voice.
"HARREH! GET ME A BAGEL!" screeched an irish accent.
The man in front of me, obviously Harry, smiled weakily at me. "Sorry about them. And a bagel too, I guess."
"Alright," I said, ringing up the total,"that'll be 5 quid, sir."
He nodded and handed me his credit card. Ashlynn was busying herself in making the drinks and preparing the food that was ordered. I swiped the card and tapped a few buttons on the screen before handing the credit card plus printed receipt and pen to him.
"Sign, please." I said, forcefully shoving the pen into his rather large hands. He smirked again and nodded, scribbling away his name on the thin black line. The paper and pen werethrown back at my face, so I couldn't help but glance at the name.
Harry Styles
He slipped his sunglasses down, revealing bright earthy green eyes. A subtle wink was shown before he slipped the glasses back on his face. "Don't sell it on Ebay, Louiiiisseeeezzzzz, I'll never be able to live that one down."
Then he just walked away. Just walked. Well, of course he got his food, the irish sounding one(named like Neill or Niall or something) was jumping excitedly for food. He reminded me of Ashlynn at that moment, all hyper and excited. They walked out the store, leaving a hyperactive Ashlynn and a shocked me.
"OH HOLY BLOODY COW! YOU JUST MET HARRY STYLES! THE HARRY BLOODY STYLES! AND I'M SAYING BLOODY A LOT BUT I DON'T BLOODY CARE! AGH!" she spazzed, running around the kitchen. Some of our costumers were giving her weird looks. A loud laugh sounded from outside. The laugh came from the blonde, Niall I think, a smile plastered on his innocent looking face. "OHMIGOD NIALL HORAN JUST SMILED AT ME!" And with that she fainted...seriously fainted.
But I ignored her, blocking the noise out completely. I was used to her fainting because it really wasn't that uncommon. All I could really think about was that nickname. Louisez. And do you want to know who tortured me with that name for all my primary school years?
Harry Styles.
