Battle Scars
Chapter 19
Shawn beamed at me while he got dressed for the studio.
"I think I'm just going to stay here...." I say.
"Awwe, why?" he says taking my hand.
"The baby. I just feel a little groggy that's all" I lie.

About 20 minutes after Shawn's car pulled away, I slowly make my way to the bathroom.
I look down at my razor, and cringe.
I can't do it again. It was stupid thing to do, right?
I won't, I assure myself, doing what I promised never to do again.
Only I guess I did something different.
My breath speeds up, yet at the same time slows.... My vision is spotting.
I reach for the pain killers and take a hand full to try and numb the pain a little.
I reach over to the sink and grab my phone, trying to dial 9-1-1.
"911 what's your emergency?" the person asks.
"He-Help!" I hiccup.
There's blood running down my wrist. And as much as it embarrasses me to say this, I think I peed myself.
I'm soaking wet.
"Mam, calm down. Can you tell me your location."
I spit out the hotel name and room, as a wave of terrible pain lashes through my stomach.
I hit the floor with a sickening thud.

I wake up in a bright room. I immediately recognize, I'm in a hospital.
I see a bandage wrapped around my wrist, and IVs running into my arms.
"Hello?" I call out, my voice scratchy.
A guy in a white coat comes in with a grave expression on his face.
"Mam...Im so, so sorry, to tell you this...." he begins and my heart sinks.
Oh no. What's happening?
The heart monitor starts beating faster.
"Your baby...he didn't make it." He looks away.
My eyes go wide, my mouth falling open. A tear falls down my face, as I just try to zone out of the pain. I'll never be able to hold my ba- did he say my baby was a 'he'?
I just zone it out. I can't focus on that right now, I can't.
I see the doctors lips moving but nothing reaches my ears.
I start shaking, before I start feeling really tired, and everything goes black. ...
