Chapter 22
When we land Mrs. Mendes stands there with Aaliyah.
I try to plaster the best fake smile I can over my face and Shawn does the same.
"I missed you guys so much!" she smiles taking us into a hug.
Aaliyah runs up to Shawn.
" Never leave us again!" she squeezes her arms around his body.

We all get in the car, and head to Pizza Hut.
Mrs Mendes comes back with four boxes of pizza.
(Hopefully my favorite, thin crust pepperoni)
"Mom....theres something I need to tell you." Shawn blurts on the way back to his house.
My eyes go wide. What's he doing?!
"What?" she asks, keeping her eyes trained on the road ahead.
"I- got a record deal while we where in Nashville." He smiles.
It doesn't even look forced.
Aaliyah and Mrs. Mendes let out excited screams and she almost runs us off the road.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS OH MY GOSH!!!" Aaliyah squeals

"SUPRISE!"
I smile in excitement when I open the door to see Shawn's dad.
"MR. MENDES!!"
"DAD!"
Me and Shawn yell, ignoring the other person sitting on the couch.
We run over to Shawn's dad and embrace him into one of our signature group hugs.
"We missed you so much!" I say, I love him like a dad.
"Heyyyy...." the guy on the couch says.
He looks familiar, but I just can't place it.
Who is he?.....
JACK!
"Gilinsky!!!" I yell jumping over to that couch squeezing him in my arms so hard he grunts a little.
"Happy to see you too Babe." He laughs.
I had told myself that everything between us was in the past, but looking at him sitting so close to me, I wanted to tell him everything.
I wanted to know him.
The older Jack Gilinsky.
