Write at least 250 words.
ANSWER:
The graph reveals data of PC company's sales volume over the period of time from 1960 to 1995.
As can be seen from the graph, there was a remarkable growth throughout the years until 1975, followed by a dramatic fall, bringing the number to its bottom at the end of the period in 1995.
In the first five years, the figure remained stable at around 100. However, since 1965 the company showed a significant rise in sales volume and reached its peak at 500 in 1975, despite having the starting number of only one fifth of the highest point in 1960. From then until 1980, the company had a five years plateau, staying at 500.
The following years witnessed a horrendous downfall in the sales volume. In a five years' time, the figure 500 reduced to only around 350. The sales volume continued to drop rapidly and hit the bottom at zero in 1990, and since then the number remained unchanged.
WRITING TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic.
It is inevitable that traditional cultures will be lost as technology develops. Technology and traditional cultures are incompatible.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.
ANSWER:
In today's world, the rapid growth of modern technology alters many parts of our daily life. The impact is so great that some argue that between them exists an incompatibility. To my belief, it is partly the current situation in our world, however, I only agree with this idea to some certain extent, such as in means of communication and the way we perform some of our daily tasks.
The appearance of up-to-date technology is eroding the old tradition of meeting directly with people. We now have a variety of choices that could help solve the problem of distance. For example, a meeting between companies could be held online just through a screen, and it would decrease the costs and boost the productivity. Also, modern technology can help with tasks that used to take up so much time. In the past, we were in the habit of taking notes with our pens and papers, and now, we can just keep them typed in the Notes app. We have this amazing application as well, which is called Reminder installed on our mobile and it helps us to keep things nicely scheduled.
The term "traditional cultures" refers to a wide range of different criteria, and the statement that the entire traditional cultures will be placed in danger is not accurate. The culture formed in different ethnic groups have existed since the beginning of life, and it exists within each individual, it plays the role of the core and the root, and it seems impossible to ever change it. For instance, thoughts and feelings are also parts of cultures. Trending devices are only there to support us, not to replace us. For the fact that we co-exist, it is a misinterpretation to think that traditional cultures will then be gone, as some may become no longer appropriate, but their existence is undeniable.
In conclusions, the life of mankind is under heavy influence of the constant development in technology, yet some value still remains intact. It is urgent to raise awareness and to come up with methods to develop and improve, as well as to preserve the special cultures that make up life.
