Chapter 4
I yawned, the last class before lunch having just ended. "Tired?" Asked Michael, putting a protective arm around me as we walked out class.
"I guess so." I frowned, rubbing my eyes as Luke joined us as we walked to the cafeteria.
"Join the club. Being sleepy sucks." He whined, pushing open the doors.
Not even a split second later, my face met water and I realised that someone had threw water all over me. I opened my eyes, hearing an erupt of laughter from everyone in the cafeteria.
Not only was I soaked, but so was Luke and Michael. I didn't even have to guess who did it, and neither did Michael as he clenched a fist and grabbed the collar of Ashton. Ash dropped the bucket he contained the water in and Michael punched him in the face, causing the laughter to turn into chants for a fight.
"What's your fucking problem?" Michael shouted at him, pushing him against the cafeteria door. Luke stood besides him, telling him he wasn't worth the fight and trying to calm him down.
"Go on Ash! You can do it! For the lads, Ash!" His mates chanted behind them, a crowd now forming around us. I frowned at Michael, him looking towards me as if for permission to beat up Ashton.
"You know why I did it Michael. You always do." Ashton said, Michael not even needing a second to guess, before letting go and storming off. Me and Luke followed after him and into the boys toilets, luckily no-one else was in there.
"What happened back there?" I asked Michael, trying to dry my hair and clothes with some paper towels.
Luke took off his glasses and dried them with his lens clothe. Michael ignored my question and slammed his fist into the wall, steaming with anger. He turned and went to walk out, but I grabbed his arm.
"Answer my question." I said, scanning his angry face for an answer. He looked at me with sad eyes then shook his head, opening the door.
"See you tomorrow." He sighed, walking past us. I stepped out and called him to come back, but he didn't and walked out the doors at the end of the hall.
Sighing, I gave a sympathetic look towards Luke, and he frowned, patting my shoulder as we slowly walked down the corridor.
He's hiding something. You know it.
