PERCY'S P.O.V:
It was a quiet night in Chicago. Quieter than usual. Well, for me at least. Let me explain why, for about 3 years the FBI have been trying to track down and catch a thief who goes by the name of The Scarlet Storm Thief. Their calling card was two ribbons: One scarlett coloured and one grey tied together then tied to the place where they had stolen from. I was the 5th FBI agent to be handed this case. I was constantly turning in tough cases and handing over handcuffed criminals. I would always watch in amusement as other agents shook and rubbed their heads in confusion for the Scarlet Storm Thief case. But I never got the case that I wanted:
The Scarlet Storm Thief.
So I decided to start my own investigation in my free time. Soon enough I discovered a pattern. The other agents thought that I was crazy saying
"The Scarlet thief doesn't have a pattern."
Eventually I managed to convince the head of the FBI, Grey, to let me have a crack at this case. So right now I am sitting in an FBI van, grimacing at my cold coffee's taste and waiting for the alarms to go off in the BYS insurance building. The building belonged to the CEO of BYS Insurance a very, very rich man and the owner of a very, very, expensive painting that could fetch a hefty sum on the black market. After about another hour or so I felt like I was rubbing my eyes constantly to keep them open. I brought my coffee up to my lips and nearly dropped it when alarms started blaring all around me. I threw the coffee somewhere in the van, yanked the door open and ran inside the building. I could already hear the police sirens nearing the building. Police officers and I drew our guns and raced inside to the elevator. I pressed the button for the 37th floor which was where the painting and some handpicked guards were waiting. The plan was to wait for them to strike and then the guards would catch them in the act. I ran down the hall and burst into the room and all of my sense of achievement vanished when I saw the officers tied up with duct tape over their mouths. My eyes widened in horror and astonishment. I spun around to see not a painting but a piece of scarlett and grey ribbon tied together and then tied to where the painting was supposed to be. I ran to one officer and ripped of the tape of his mouth. He winced.
"WHERE DID HE GO?!!!!" I yelled.
"Was in and out before we could do anything. Super quick. Left up the stairwell about 10 seconds before you came in."
That was all I needed to take off running towards the stairwell yelling to the officers to cover all the exits and untie the others. I wasn't about to let him get away again. I heard a door open then saw a hooded figure and heels run through a door.
"Why would a man be wearing heels?" I muttered.
I burst onto the roof letting the door slam behind me. And there casually standing in the middle of the roof was the thief.
"FREEZE!!" I yelled pointing my gun at him with both hands.
My word's to freeze seemed to have no effect on him because he just continued to walk to the edge of the building.
"I SAID FREEZE!!!!!" I tried to yell louder.
He just continued to walk further. He raised something from his hand and slung it over his back. It was a tube shaped container.
'The painting!'
"SIR!! STOP AND HAND OVER THE PAINTING!!" I screamed at him.
"Number 1." he said pulling his trench coat hood off his face.
'Holy hell!' This was no man.
Blonde locks tumbled out of the hood. "I am not a man but a woman." she stated calmly.
"Number 2. What makes you think I will hand over a painting that could get me a lot of money, huh?"
She then unzipped the coat she was wearing to reveal a pair of black tight leather pants and a black tank-top. She was also wearing black heeled combat boots. Over that she looked to be wearing a harness with many straps and carabiners. With the painting still across her back, and with practiced fingers she hooked some ropes to the carabiners quickly which she hooked herself to with precision. Another feature that I could make out was her white teeth as the moon light reflected off them as she grinned at me. Everything came rushing back to me.
"Stop!!!!" I said.
When I was about 10 ft away she gave me a grin, saluted me with 2 fingers and stepped over the edge of the building.
"SHOOT!!" I yelled narrowly stopping myself from tumbling over the edge of where she had been a moment ago.
My eyes searched the ropes before me trying to find a way to stop it but there was no way I could stop it.
"DAMN IT!!!"
I opened my cell phone to see if the had caught her but I remembered that I had set up everyone in the lobby to try and stop her. Soon enough the rope stopped running through the pulley.
The Scarlet Storm Thief was gone again.
