Child of Thieves

~ In Manhattan ~

Monsters. They were everywhere. I was in a tree so some dogmonsters didn't kill me. I thought they were monsters because dogs don't have so many teeth. This forest was full of those dogs. I had lived in the trees for something like a week now. Before this forest I lived in that next to my aunt's house.

That day they came back, I was happy and ran to them but they said they didn't know who I was so I came to this forest. So I ran to this monster dog forest.

I continued jumping on the trees until I find the way out of this forest. I got on the ground again and saw this big city and ran to it. I met some tourist groups and people walking around. I walked to a tourist group. "Where am I?" I asked. "Manhatten, New York." A woman said. I got big eyes and walked away from the tourist group. I sat down in a park and took off my backpack, opened it and looked if I had any more food left. Nothing. I sighted and closed my backpack and threw it on my shoulder again.

When it became dark I laid down on a bench to get some sleep. I didn't have any nightmare but I still woke up very early in the morning because a sound.

I sat up and took my phone to check the clock. 4:24 A.M. I couldn't sleep so I stood up. I took my backpack and looked if something was missing, the only things left was a shorts, hoodie, t-shirt and the two knifes. I had my phone in my hand. I looked around with my head. Some birds, a poor man sleeping on a bench and two girls around my age. I took my backpack on my shoulder, took my hair in ponytail and walked to the girls. "Uhm.. Hi?" I said. They looked at me. "Hi." Said the one to left. She had brown hair and green eyes. She looked like the youngest if them. Maybe 13? Idk. "Hey." Said the other. She had brown hair but longer and her eyecolor was a mix of grey, blue and green. She looked like a 14 year old girl. "Uh.. I'm Maddie.."

"I'm Dawn." Said the youngest. "Kaylin." Said the oldest. "What are you doing out here so early?" Dawn ask. "Was sleeping on that bench." I said and pointed at it. Kaylin nods. "What about ya two?"

"We was just.. Walking around Manhatten.." Dawn said. "Ya have parents?" I smiled a little to them. They didn't answer. I took up my phone to check the clock again. 4:36 A.M. When I took my phone in my pocket again a monster came. It has seven heads and had a greenish color. It one head opened it's mouth and fire came out and another did the same and something green came out. When the green thing hit the ground, the grass and all that burn. I got my knife and looked at the two others. Kaylin held a bronze sword and Dawn held a also a bronze sword. They killed the monster together.

Kaylin took my phone and threw it away. "Ey!"

"It's to your safety. " She said. "What are these monster actually?" I ask. "Greek monsters. You know those myths? They are true. We are demigods and so are you. You should get to Long Island Sounds. It's a camp for our kind there. You should go to it. It's named Camp Half-Blood." Dawn said. "Uh.. What is a demigod?.." I ask. "Half mortal, half greek god." Dawn said. "We should get moving." Kaylin said as they packed their stuff. "What about me?" "Get to this camp as fast as possible." Kaylin said. "Bye!" They said as they walked away.

"Camp Half-Blood.. Demigod.." I mumble as I ran to a open shop. Wired that it was open so early but anyway. I stole a map and started waking towards this camp.
