Nine Months Later

"I fucking hate you! Oh my god!" Jessie gasped as another contraction wrapped her midsection in a vise. "Don't you ever touch me again, you asshole!"

Happy stared at her in horror from his spot by her side as Gemma snorted in amusement from the other side. She reached over and patted Happy on the arm as both of his hands were being gripped by his pregnant old lady. "She doesn't mean it. You'll have sex again, trust me."

Jessie fell back against the bed as the contraction eased. "Yeah, if he can find a croweater to take care of that. Right now, I don't think I'm ever having sex again. Holy shit, this hurts!"

Gemma just nodded as she turned to pick up the cup of ice chips from the table beside the bed. "Hell yeah, it does, but you could have made it a lot easier if you would have taken the epidural, ya know."

Before Jessie could reply, the doctor came in to see how far she had dilated. They'd been at St. Thomas for a day at this point, and Jessie had been actively in labor for twenty-two hours. This baby wasn't wanting to make an appearance. He pulled the sheet back into place and frowned at Jessie.

"Well, Mrs. Lowman, I'd like to tell you that you are ready to deliver, but you're still at five centimeters. I'm going to check you again in an hour, and if you aren't moving along, we may need to discuss a cesarian." Jessie started to speak but he held up a hand. "I know you're hellbent on a natural birth, but Junior here may have other ideas, ok?" He patted her on the leg and shook Happy's hand. "I'll be back to check. Either way, it will be fine. I don't want either of you to worry, alright?"

Happy nodded as the doctor left the room, but when he turned back to Jessie, he saw the tears rolling down her face and leaned over to kiss her on the forehead. "Aww, come on, baby. You heard the doc. It'll all be fine. Don't cry, Jess."

Jessie just nodded and wiped her eyes as Gemma grinned from beside her. "Well, I'm not surprised at all. You're tiny and your husband is a monster."

Jessie grinned at that. Hearing Happy mentioned as her husband was still new to her. They'd gotten married six months ago. He had been adamant that she and the baby both have his name before she gave birth. She's told him that the baby would have his name, but he had informed her that he wanted them all to be the same.

Her happiness was short-lived as another contraction started. She started the breathing exercises that she had learned from Tara as Gemma looked at Happy. "Why don't you go out and let the others know what's going on. Send Lyla or Tara back."

Happy nodded before turning to kiss Jessie. "I'll be back soon, Jess. Just breathe, babe."

Jessie nodded as the contraction reached its peak. She watched the door close behind him and wondered just how long this was going to take.

Happy leaned against the closed door for a moment, running a hand over his face and trying to compose himself before joining the rest of the club in the waiting room. They had practically taken over the maternity floor, kuttes seen everywhere as work at the garage halted and plans went on hold so the family could all be together for the blessed event. He rolled his neck trying to relieve some stress before standing straight and striding to the waiting room down the hall. When he walked in, Tig jumped up and grinned at him.

"So? Do I have a new niece or nephew?"

Happy shook his head and sighed as he flopped down in a chair that Bobby pointed him to. "Nah, man, not yet. She's still only five centimeters. The doc is starting to talk about a cesarian." He looked at Tara, who was sitting beside him, with troubled eyes, the worry for his wife evident. "She fucking exhausted and I know she's scared to death at the thought of surgery."

Tara gave him a small smile and nodded as she stood up, motioning for Lyla to join her. "I'll go talk to her. A cesarian is probably the best bet if she's not progressing." She leaned down and gave Happy a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry so much. They'll both be fine."

Happy nodded as the two women left the room. Bobby sat down in the chair vacated by Tara and grinned at him. "Tara's right, man. Women have been doing this a long fucking time. Let the old ladies talk to her. They'll calm her down faster than you could."

Happy nodded, smiling a little. "Yeah, I know, but it's different when it's your old lady, ya know? I'm gonna worry until the kid's here and I know that they're both ok."

Jax and Opie nodded, both the most recent fathers besides Happy. They all waited for what seemed like forever before Lyla came hurrying into the room, smiling at Happy.

"Come on, daddy. Jess agreed to the surgery. You're on. Now."

At four a.m., Ryder James Lowman came screaming into the world, looking ready to take on everyone, just like his dad. Once Jessie was back in her room and resting, Happy walked out to the waiting club, grinning from ear to ear. As he strode into the room, all conversation stopped and all eyes were on him.

"Ryder James Lowman, ten pounds, ten ounces, and eighteen inches long. Healthy as a fucking horse."

The cheers and congratulations were so loud, they were probably heard in emergency on the first floor. Happy accepted hugs and back slaps from the men and kisses from the women before he headed back to Jess, assuring everyone that as soon as possible, they would meet the little man. He walked into her room, taking care to be as quiet as possible. Jess was sleeping, and he knew that little mama deserved the rest. He sat down beside her bed and just stared at the woman he loved. The woman he never thought he'd deserve to have, but for some unknown reason, Jessie loved him and God knew he loved her.

Jessie slowly opened her eyes, confused for a moment about where she was until everything came rushing back to her. She smiled as she looked beside her and saw Happy holding their son, pride and love showing on his face. She reached over to pat his arm and he looked at her, shaking his head and smiling.

"He's fucking perfect, Jess."

She grinned and nodded. "He is, babe."

He cocked his head and smirked at her. "I've been sitting here thinking. He needs a little sister."

Jessie rolled her eyes. "Jesus, Hap! I just gave birth! Can we table this discussion for later? Besides, you can't just order up a girl. We could have another boy."

Happy just shrugged as he reached over with his free hand to take hers and give it a squeeze. "True, but that just means more brothers to protect our princess when she finally gets here."

Jessie shook her head and chuckled. "Why do I have the feeling that we're going to end up with a houseful of kids?"

Happy just shrugged, that damn smirk of his still firmly in place. "Maybe, but you're in too deep to get out now, babe."
