Joel's father had been driving with Joel and Julie for what would seem like hours to a human, but was exactly 42 minutes and 46 seconds to Julie's calculated mind.
Joel had spent the past 10 minutes and 37 seconds of which holding Julie's hand and smiling to himself. It seems he was proud to have his new friend.
After a further few minutes, Joel's father finally piped up, "Ok, we're here..."
Julie looked out of her window to see her new home, and it looked pleasant. There was plenty of garden around it, including what seemed to be a fountain which wasn't on. The house seemed about three floors high, and quite large in general. It wasn't exactly a mansion, although it wasn't far off of it.
"Ok, everyone out of the car." Joel's father said, and Joel hurriedly opened his car door and jumped out. Julie calmly opened up her car door, and stepped out, before closing the door gently.
"Ok Julie..." Joel's father walked up to Julie, looking her in the synthetic eyes, "My name is Edgar. You are mainly Joel's android, however, you will also need to do other jobs given to you by other family members, Ok?"
"Yes Edgar,"
"We won't take you for granted, we believe even machines deserve a nice life and a break every now and then, so don't work yourself to death,"
"Yes Edgar,"
"Ok, uhh, you're allowed anywhere on the property with exception only to the attic. There's no chance you'll accidentally go up there, since you'd need to get the ladder, and it is also labelled, so there's no excuse if you do,"
"Yes Edgar,"
"I think that's all you need to know for now, but I'll keep you updated when something else comes up."
"Yes Edgar,"
"Ok, go on inside."
[[NEW ORDERS] GO INSIDE OF EDGAR'S HOUSE]

Julie walked along the clean and pristine stone pathway up to the entrance of the house, looking around and taking in the beautiful scenery of bushes, trees and flowers.
Edgar walked up the steps to the front door, and stood in the door way waiting for Julie.
Julie continued examining her surroundings as she slowly got closer to the steps, looking at the porch, the nice wooden benches, the clean windows on the building, an autonomous lawn mower driving slowly across the garden grass, along with the sprinklers around the garden watering the flowers, bushes and grass.
Julie finally got to the steps, still not facing them, taking in everything around her.
"It is quite beautiful isn't it?" Edgar asked her.
"Yes, it is quite majestic, you must be very happy here!"
"Yeah, most of the time we are. I hope you will be too, as a new part of our family!"
Julie smiled at this, she kinda expected them to treat her a bit worse than they were. Did they think she was a person or something? She didn't really have any real opinions on it though, how could she? She was a machine following programming. Emotions and opinions were not programmed into her system.
Julie walked up the steps, and Edgar opened the door for her.
"Thank you Edgar, but you don't need to hold doors open for me!" She told him politely.
"No no, other people may think of androids as inhuman machines, but I like to think of them as their own people,"

[ANDROIDS BEING THEIR OWN PEOPLE?]

[WHY WOULD ANYONE THINK THIS?]

"Well, I appreciate the hospitality!" She told him, still smiling pleasantly.
Edgar smiled back at her, before sticking two of his fingers in his mouth and whistling loudly.
"SYD! JOEL'S ANDROID IS HERE NOW!"
From somewhere in the house, seemingly on a higher floor, Julie could detect the sounds of someone rushing through a hallway, before suddenly a set of double doors opened up with a loud bang, and someone came out of them.
It was a woman, about the same age as Edgar, she didn't look very pleased.
"What? Are you kidding me Edgar?" She asked him, anger in her tone, "I told you, he wasn't getting one!"
"And I told you, he asked for it for years, it's about time he got one!"
"You know those things are stealing our jobs and ruining society!"
"No they aren't, they're making life easier for us,"
"By making us homeless!"
"Sydney, I swear to god, let's just stop this now! I just came home, can we just be a nice and happy family like we used to be?"
"No! Because you always go against what I say!"
"Yeah, like you don't go against me at all." Edgar responded sarcastically.
"Ugh! Fine! The thing can stay!"
The woman, Sydney, then proceeded to go back to wherever she came from.

Edgar sighed to himself, "I-I'm sorry about my wife, she's not particularly fond of androids since they put her out of a job..."
"It's ok! Most people don't seem to like androids much,"
"Yeah, well... just don't take what she says close to heart," he responded, "If you even can of course,"
