It was cold, wet Monday working at Starbucks when everything began. I kept my head down whilst wiping a table, when the door opened.

Quickly rushing back to the bar to serve, I cleared my throat and clicked my pen against the counter. "Chai latte with almond milk and extra sweetener please" a sweet, quiet voice spoke. I wrote down the order on a venti size cup, "Can I have your name please?" I said, swishing the pen around my fingers.

"Ariana" she said, as I lifted my head up to a familiar face. "Fucking hell" I whispered under my breath, which she must have heard as I noticed a small laugh leave her lips which I couldn't take my eyes off of.

Her laugh quickly turned back into a sigh. As I studied her face I could tell something was up, her mascara slightly smudged around her eyes, which darted around the room gave away she felt uncomfortable.

I left her for a moment to make her drink, and quickly wrote her a message on the cup
You're not alone.
It was pretty cringy, but I felt like I had to say something to her without causing a scene, or make matters worse for her.
I knew exactly why she was upset, Mac Miller, her ex died recently, and a couple days ago she broke up with Pete.

"Chai latte for Ariana" I smiled towards her, while placing the cup in her hand. She thanked me and took a sip, while observing the note. I gave her a sympathetic smile as her brunette eyes sparkled back into mine, with a genuine smile this time.

Her eyes squinted at my name tag, as she brought them back to meet my gaze "Aubrey" she said with the cutest grin. "That's a beautiful name" she remarks, making me laugh "for a beautiful girl" she continues, making me blush. Her tone to me seemed sexual, but it was probably my mind wanting it to sound that way, I wasn't even a lesbian, but who wouldn't want to be called beautiful by Ariana Grande?

"Aubrey Moretzo" I chuckle nervously "I could say the same for you, Ariana" I mentally flicked myself for making such a blatant compliment, but she seemed to laugh with it, as I did too.

Once again as we finished laughing her smile quickly faded. It was late, the shop was about to close and there was no one else around, it was an unprofessional move but I didn't care "Do you want to talk?" I say shyly, sitting on the counter.

Her face instantly lit up, "I would love that" she says, before following me to a couch. I decided to take a seat next to her, as she sipped on her drink "Are you ok?" I ask stupidly, I knew the answer would be a no.

"Life isn't doing me justice at the moment" she sighs, slouching into the seat. I knew this about her, I was never a massive fan of Ariana, but with her constantly being in the news you couldn't help but feel bad for the negativities in her life being all over the press. With the devastation of her 2017 Dangerous Women UK leg of the tour and now Mac and Pete, I couldn't guess how she kept things together.

"You are amazing" I breathe, knowing she probably gets told that hundreds of times a day "I could never know how much you must hurt inside, but you are so strong. To come here today, face all those paparazzi who are waiting on your every move outside, and try to make it through your life" I say, making her giggle.

I could tell my company was paying off, we sat for a while as she opened up about everything. I was surprised at first about how she was telling this stranger about her whole story, but I'm glad she trusted me.

By the time she finished, the store was way past closing time. She watched as I flipped the open sign around to close, and switched all the lights off.

Ariana's POV:
"Let's go" she laughed and pulled me off of my seat. I stood in awe for a second of this beautiful girl for a second, who actually cared enough to sit down with me and let me actually talk about how I felt, no one had ever done that for me before. Her sparkling hazel eyes constantly made me loose focus as she'd peer into mine, her brunette hair which turned into dark blonde curls draped across her glowing cheeks met with perfectly soft lips.

I snapped out of my trance as I realised I probably had been staring at her lips for too long. I knew I straight, I had never felt about girls like this before, but she blew me away.

"Where to?" I laughed, making her stop for a second "You'll see" she smirks. There were so many reasons I could've have said no and left then and there, I had so much work to do, and this girl was a complete stranger, but something in this girl made me trust her, and I let her lead me to her car.

"Ma lady" she joked opening the car door for me "I may be famous, but I'm not royalty" I joke, making her roll her eyes and jump in the other side "I've got manner" she smiles, making me blush.

We talk as she drives, getting to know each other a little more "You live around here?" I ask, intrigued by her presence "About 5 minutes walk from here" she replies, "you'll see why" she smiles, continuing to drive up the hill.

The sun began to set in the clear sky, making for a beautiful pink and purple hazy night. As she parked I got out to find the most beautiful view point of Los Angeles I've ever seen. "Oh my god Aubrey, this is.."

"Cool right" she says, taking a seat on a log. "This is more than cool" I say, pushing my fingers through my hair. Taking a seat next to her, I lay my head on her shoulder, which she happily takes to as we watch the sun set behind the busy city.

"I don't know what I did to deserve this" I say, my eyes watering slightly "how did you find this place?" I ask, taking her attention away from the view.

"Funny you ask, my ex boyfriend broke up with me here" she says, making me look up at her "I'm sorry-" I say, "Don't be, it was a toxic relationship. I'm glad something good came out of it, and that I could share it with someone else" she says with a faint smile.

"Thank you for choosing me to share it with" I say, looking into the distance "Nah, thank you" she says, placing her arm around me as I begin to shiver.

"You're cold?" She mumbles, placing her denim jacket around me, I could still feel her warmth on it, making me hug into it.

We sit for a while and talk, watching the sky turn dark and the starts appear, "I guess you better get back to your place?" She sighs, bringing me back to reality. I nod sadly, and pull out my phone "Once again, thank you for making me feel like a real person tonight Aubrey, I want to remember this night forever" I say, before setting the camera behind us to take a picture.

She offered me a lift home after that, to which I gladly accepted. On the drive home we both humbly sat and sang to breathin, which she complimented as her favourite. To be fair her singing was just as good as mine, to which I mention, but she quickly laughed off.

We got to my house and she opened the car door for me, to which I pulled her into a warm hug "Night Aubrey" I say into her warm skin, wishing I wouldn't have to let go. "Goodnight Ari, sleep well." She smiles, her soft lips brushing past my cheek before pulling away.

"What about your jacket?" I shout as she begins to walk off, "I put my number inside it, so you better not lose it" she winks, before driving off into the distance.

"Woah" I laugh to myself, before walking indoors.
