Aubrey's POV:
It had been a couple days since we'd met my parents, and by now most people in the media were starting to catch on that Ariana was taking a break, but we soon realised breaks aren't permanent and she was soon back at it in the recording studio.

Unlike most days, she wasn't letting me sit and watch as her and her producers worked their magic, and usually came up with an excuse as to why I wouldn't come sit with them "can you go get us some food babe?" or it would be "baby you're looking a little tired, why don't you go chill in bed?" and knowing me, I'd always give in to her, always.

The next few weeks were the same, it seemed as though we were spending little and littler time together with each day passing. Press, studio and sleep turned into the daily routine where the only time we'd get to talk is dinner, which on the occasion she would skip.

Today was different, at least, I hoped it would be.

"Morning babe" she said, smiling up at me and making herself comfortable on my chest as I sat and scrolled through my Twitter feed. "Good morning" I hummed as she yawned hopping out of bed.

"I thought we could maybe go grab some lunch in a bit" I say, putting my phone down suggesting that today we could spend some time together.

"I have this really important business meeting with my managers today about the new song I'm creating, I'm sorry babe" she sighs, taking herself into the bathroom.

"How about after?" I say, walking into the bathroom after her "Photoshoot" she sighs, walking up to me and pulling me into a hug, my chin resting on her head as I sigh into her brunette hair.

"You know, you are my personal assistant, you can come right?" She smiles, trying to cheer up my mood, does she really not know what day it is?

"Sure babe, I'd love to" I say putting on a fake smile before lunging myself into the wardrobe to get ready. Trying to find some motivation to look nice for a meeting is harder than it looks.

The day goes by way slower than I thought it could, the whole hour we spent in the meeting I stared at the clock and every know and then added a 'yeah that sounds great' or 'sure' to make myself look slightly interested.

"Look babe, I'd love to stay and help out with your photo shoot, but I'm starving, do you mind if I go get something to eat?" I say as she politely smiles in return "sure thing, see you in a bit" she says pecking me on the cheek before I disappear to the car.

Deciding whether to actually make an effort for tonight or not, I took the harder option to try make at least the smallest amount of effort for the occasion, maybe she would appreciate that.

I got home and turned on the lights and headed to the kitchen to start cooking. Of course, I decided to make her favourite, sushi which I'd never made before, but hoped she'd appreciate it.

Just as I finished lighting the few last candles and putting our food out on the table and noticed the door open and close.

"Babe are you home?" She said, walking through the house making me giggle. "Come into the kitchen I have a surprise" I said as I noticed her appear.

"Babe! What's all this?" She smiles, looking around at the romantic scene "I thought I could, you know, bring the date to us for a change?" I say as she puts her bag down and walks over to the table.

"Aubrey this is lovely, but I was just hoping to go to bed, I'm exhausted" she sighs, pulling me in for a hug as I push away.

"Babe what's wrong?" She gasps as I look at her with disappointment. "What's wrong?" I say sarcastically, my voice beginning to shake.

I hesitated for a minute, would this be our first argument? I could just brush if off and go to bed and forget today ever happened, but that wasn't happening.

"What's wrong is that I took the time out of my day to walk sit through all of your meetings and photo shoots, and you can't even take the time to sit down with me and have a meal which I've took the time to make for us?" I say, clearly starting to get frustrated.

"Aubrey I, I can explain" she says, her eyes beginning to water. I hated seeing her so upset, the fact we were arguing because of me made my heart ache, but I couldn't take it anymore.

"Explain? Ariana, do you even know what day it is?" I say, my eyes filling with tears. She shakes her head shamelessly.

"Today was my birthday" I sigh, watching her reaction as she placed her hands over her lips.
"I didn't say anything because I thought maybe you'd knew, that maybe for once we could do something that I wanted to do instead of me being your assistant like every other day. I made us dinner, I cooked your favourite food because I thought that maybe you'd want to spend time with me for once instead of being a celebrity" I say, beginning to raise my voice.

"Aubrey" She whispers, tears streaming down her face.

"I want you to call me your girlfriend Ariana, not your assistant. I want us to spend our lives together, get married, maybe have kids one day because I've never loved anyone as much as I love you" I say, barely forming my sentences through the tears.

"But all I seem to be is your fucking assistant" I say, grabbing my keys and heading for the door.

"Aubrey, please come back" she tries to say, walking behind me like a child trying to hold my hand as my heart brakes walking away from the love of my life.

"I'm sorry babe, come find me when you figure out if you want a girlfriend, because I'm done with being your personal assistant".
