Chapter 21-Boss

Shownu POV

I watched Y/N leave in the taxi and I decided to head back to the dorms.

BUZZBUZZBUZZ

I felt my phone vibrating in my pockets and pulled it out to answer it.

"Yebbeosayo?" I asked.

"Shownu, where are you? You need to get back to the dorms right now, something has happened and you need to be here." It was Wonho speaking frantically, I felt my chest tighten and I hung up and immediately made a run for the dorms.

MONSTA X DORMS

I came crashing through the front door like a made man and called out. "Guys?! Whats going on?!"

I found all the guys scattered around the kitchen with looks of concern across their faces. I approached them cautiously and asked again, only this time quieter. "Whats going on, guys?"

Everyone didn't look at me. Just stared at the ground silently. Hyungwon rolled his eyes and took Wonho's phone from his hand and marched up to me and held the phone in my face.

"Who is she? Whats your relationship with her?" he asked in a cold tone.

As I stared at the screen I saw a photo of me hugging Y/N from that day I MCed. Whoever took the photo was a sneaky son of a bitch. They made it look like a way more intimate embrace than it actually was. I clenched my jaw tightly and looked at the members.

"Guys, its really not what you think." As I finished my sentence, Hyungwon let out a huff and then angrily swiped through photos.

"If its not what we think, then what are all these?" he held the phone up again, only this time there were several photos of me with Y/N, at the store, walking home, casually bumping into each other. It didn't look good.

"Guys its really not like that!" Before I could continue, I.M. cut me off.

"Youre our leader, Shownu. Even if its not like this, youre supposed to be more careful so it doesn't look like this!" I bit my tongue because I knew he was right.

"Ill fix this guys. I promise." I felt my phone vibrating again. Great what now?

CEO-nim: Shownu, please come to my office with urgency. We need to discuss things.

I swallowed down hard and felt my fists tighten. I felt like such a failure, but I had to face this head on. So without another word I turned and headed to Starship for my "meeting".

Y/N POV

I stared up at the building before me. I had no idea what was going to happen. How would I explain this? I drew in a quick breath before heading inside. The secretary knew why I was here. I could feel her judgmental eyes eating me alive. She quietly led me to the door of the CEO and with a knock I heard his voice.

"Come in." she opened the door for me and I stepped through. She was instructed to leave us in private which made me even more nervous. I did a deep bow to the man before me.

"I believe you know why I've called you here Miss. L/N." I nodded shamefully and looked up to face him.

"So, please explain to me what this is all about." His voice cold. I stepped a bit closer and tried explaining the situation as best I could. He didn't say much. Just nodded from time to time. When I had finished speaking, he finally spoke again.

"I see... So you and Seokmin were childhood friends?" I nodded. "And this kiss meant nothing? You didn't kiss back?" I nodded again.

"I believe you, however, there are other problems that cannot be fixed by just your word." He said.

"Pardon me sir, but what do you mean exactly?" I asked hestitantly. I watched as he pulled out his phone and typed away.

"As you know, even though you say the kiss meant nothing, it is already out there and nothing can change that. But aside from that, this emerged just under and hour ago. I would like you to take a look." He placed his phone on his desk for me to read and there was another article.

My stomach dropped and I looked up at the CEO with wide eyes.

"Sir, this isn't what it looks like. We were hugging goodbye after an MC event that Jun and Minghao attended!" he nodded at my response and picked up his phone. We stayed in silence for what felt like an eternity before he finally stood up and approached me.

"I think we may have a solution. But sadly, I cannot keep you as Seventeen's manager. You have done a wonderful job thus far, but this could be detrimental to the group. Theyre finally gaining momentum and something like this cant ruin that for them.

I felt my eyes watering and I did my best to fight back against the tears that wee begging to fall. I nodded in understanding and turned to head for the door.

"Hold it right there, don't you want to hear about how we have a solution for you as well?" I stopped and looked at him over my shoulder.

"So you mean, theres a solution for me too?" I asked quietly. He nodded and walked to his desk. He picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Mi Rae, please send in Mr. Kim." He hung up and looked back towards me.

"Youre saving grace is about to walk through the door. I suggest you be very thankful to them."

Them?

I was jerked out of my thoughts as the door to the office opened. I quickly turned to see Shownu come through the door. What was going on? He looked at me with a soft, apologetic smile and as he stepped aside I saw a smaller, very friendly looking man in a suit.

"Hello dear, its nice to meet you. Im Kim Si Dae. CEO of Starship Entertainment and we are happy to welcome you to our team as Monsta X's new manager." He did a soft bow. My eyes widened and I looked at Shownu with a questioning expression. He simply smiled and gave a short reply.

"Nice to see you again, Boss." 

A/N Hey guys, I know this chapter had no Seventeen but its necessary to progress the story. Next chapter will most likely be up tonight and it will have Seventeen! Hope you guys still like it!
