"The feeling when you're away."

_____________________________________________________________________________

Blue eyes flicker right and left in distress. A impassive boy fidgeted with his wristband as he watched his classmates walk into the room. A few weeks ago was a huge disaster for their basketball match against a neighboring school when all of the sudden it started to rain, hard too. He was worried because the assistant manager to the team was completely soaked after Riko's umbrella broke down.

He noticed his 'light' walk into the classroom with a gruff. "Good morning Kagami-kun." He greeted, scaring the wits out of his companion head, insult intended.

"Don't scare me like that!" The redhead scolded, placing a clench fist to where his heart was. Kuroko mearly blinked, keeping an strong emotionless face. Kagami tilted your head as he watched the bluette look onwards towards the door and flickering back to the petite girl who sat in front of him. "Oh, you worried about (l/n)." Kagami stated.

"Wouldn't you be too?" Kuroko asked bluntly causing the redhead to snort.

"W-w-whatever. I don't care for her that much than you. Besides, if you're so worried about her, why don't you ask Coach to see if she got any messages from her in the past days." Kagami suggested and Kuroko nodded.

"That have to be the most intelligent thing you ever suggested, Kagami-kun." Kuroko pointed out causing a tick on the taller male's forehead.

"T-eme!" He growled before noticing that his 'shadow' wasn't with him anymore, "KUROKOOOOO!!!!!!"

Riko Aida sat there mumbling to herself, without her little self-appointed younger sister, she had to deal with the extra scheduling and permission slips from the head of the sports-coordinator office. She sighed loudly and stabbed her straw into the milk carton.

"Ano, may I ask where (L/n)-chan is?" Kuroko asked as he suddenly appeared in front of her. Riko practically spat out her milk in front of him but lucky for Kuroko, he dodged at the last moment.

"Why the hell do you want to know where my little sis is?" Riko asked with narrowed eyes as she wiped her mouth with her sleeve.

From her perspective, Kuroko remained calm, his hands behind his back but Riko couldn't see how he fidgeted behind her vision. "It's complicated to explain senpai, you see when I see her, I just want to run up to her and hug her. When she's alone, I want to comfort her and now I'm really confused. When I don't see her or when I worry about her, she's stuck in my mind and my chest aches as if I was dying..." He admitted honestly and lowered his head, "I know I'm not one for emotions but I really want to see her...Please Coach-san." He pleaded and Riko huffed slowly.

She flipped open her phone and showed him a message that (y/n) had texted her a few days back.

(To Riko-chan,

I will be away for a few days because of a cold, but don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Please take care of the boys in my place.

Sincerely,

(Y/n))

Kuroko sighed in relief before nodding, "Coach-san, I'll like to request a day off."

Riko smiled and shooed him off as her cheeks tinted pink, "Go and take care of her."

Kuroko bowed before exiting the classroom, nearly bumping into Hyūga on the way. "Woah you seem to be in a rush!" He exclaimed watching as the bluette ran out of his sight until disappearing completely. He turned to enter the class and noticed a smiling Riko looking towards at him, "Did that squirt say or did something I had miss?" He asked.

"Well, that squirt just experience love sickness..Damn it! Junpei! Why can't you be romantic like him?!" Riko whined.

"N-N-NANI?!"

"N-n-nothing!"

-------------------------------

The bluette ran out of school, his side bag bumping into his side as he took another step. He was panting hard and his chest was on fire but he didn't want to stop. He took streets after streets before finally reaching (Y/n)'s house. He knew she lived alone so he thought that she must have been feeling terrible and decide to cook something not exactly caring about how weak she was.

He stopped for a breather and looked at her main door. He gathered his strength and knocked on the door. After not hearing a reply, he tried opening the door and apparently it wasn't locked.

He smiled, 'Even when she's at home, she's still clumsy..' He chuckled at the though before going in and closing the door behind him.

He went up stairs and looked around to see a door with a large imprint of her name.

He quietly opened the door and saw her wheezing repetitively and trying to eat her soup. "K-Kuroko-san!" She croaked as she saw him enter and sat on her bed. She placed the plate on the bedside table. "W-what are you doing here?" She asked in between hacks and coughs.

Kuroko just smiled and pulled her into a warm hug. He caressed her back and raised his hand before placing the back onto her forehead. "You're still sick." He stated, he grabbed the cooling pack and carefully sticked it on her head. "Eat first then we'll talk."

He grabbed the plate, blew on the piping soup and gently allowed her to swallow. After the soup was all swallowed, (y/n) went under the covers and yawned, "you haven't told me why you are here."

Kuroko nodded, "I wanted to be with you, you're the only one who can make the pain go away." He kissed her forehead before holding her hand tightly, "I'll watch over you. So just sleep and dream of something peaceful, I'll be here in the morning."

"Maybe it's also because I love you" he added.
