Moving On / Connor Ball/

Chapter 20

Everyone has started heading in as I'm talking with my mum.

"Heidi, I've missed you so much and I can't believe that your now married!" she says as a tear slips from her eye.

"Come on Rosie!" I say as I take her hand and put her on a seat next to me.

Connor stands up to thank everyone then hands it to James, who will be doing a speech after, then it will be Tristan and Brad instead of my dad then Connor again.

" I just want to thank you all for coming to our wedding but for just now I'll hand you over to our best man, James!" He says as I kiss him once he sits down.

"I've known these two for quite a while now and I'm amazed that these are now married!" he says. "Connor has been like a brother to me, he's always there for me like I am to him, and also he's the baby in the group which makes it funner!" he says which gets a few chuckles. "But he's a good man and he'll always be there for you Hei!"

"Now it's Heidi's turn. She an amazing girl and your funny unlike some people when they criticise you all the time. We've had some good laughs and I'll never forget it! Good on you man!" he says as he finishes his speech to hand over to Brad and Tris.

"We're talking instead of Heidi's dad because sadly he couldn't be with us today." Brad says.

"But when we met your dad he always told us that he really did like Connor and he was trying to be a good dad but when he left he didn't want to leave you" Tristan says which brings a couple of tears to my eye as I look over to mum who was fidgeting with her fingers and looking down.

I tightly grip Connors hand as he notices me crying and gives the death stare to the boys.

"Anyway we want to thank you all for coming today and congratulations." they both say as they sit down awkwardly.

"Now it's my turn for a speech." Connor says as he stands up.

"First of all we have something to tell you all but we'll tell you after. I want to thank Heidi. Not just for being as amazing that she is but for being herself. She's went through such a hard time in life and yet she's still so beautiful and young. It's amazing to now call you my wife. We're like an old married couple but I love you for it." Which gets a few chuckles as I blush.

"Now for the surprise" he says which makes me nervous as he takes my hand and pulls me up whilst putting his arm around my waist.

"I'm pregnant" I say.

I forgot people had party poppers as they had started pulling them and cheering.

I look over to my mum who looks... Happy? Thank Goodness.

We sit back down and eat our dinner.

"Now everybody it's time for the first dance!" the person says into the mic as he puts on the song we chose.

"May I take this dance Mrs Ball?" Connor asks as he takes my hand.

"You may" I say with a smile as he leads me up to the dance floor.

I wrap my arms around his neck as he snakes his arms around my waist as we sway and dance to the music.

"How was your mums reaction to you being pregnant?" he asks.

"We haven't really talked about it much, you?"

"She was pleased but i think she wants to get to know you better" he says awkwardly

"Okay...i remember when I first met them. It wasn't the best..." I say.

"Why?" he asks looking down.

"Because it was after my dad passed away and I came to apologise but I kinda went by her and came to see you"

"Your so cute" he says stroking my cheek.

"I better go see my mum then yours and be back soon. Don't miss me" I say with a wink.

I finally find my mum amongst the crowd with Rosie.

"Hey mum"

"Hiya darling" she says hugging me.

"What's up?" I ask.

"I'm just amazed that your now married and pregnant!"

"I love him though so I'm happy"

" I know you are darling, can you take Rosie for a while because I'm going to go find some people and have a drink."

"Okay but I'm not drinking " I remind her since you can't drink alcohol when your pregnant.

"Okay, Rosie you stay with Heidi okay?"

"Okay mummy"rosie says as we walk away to find Connors mum.

"Oh sorry uhm hey guys!" I say as I pass James and Caitlin making out in a corner.

"Hey Rosie!" James says as he smartens himself up again.

"I'll leave you two to it.." I say.

"Hi mrs ball" I say as I approach her.

"Hiya heidi, please, call me Kelly" she says.

"I'm really sorry about the first and last time we met" I say looking down.

"Aw hun! it's absolutely fine! I'm glad I met you though because Connor wouldn't shut up about you!" which makes me blush as she pulls me into a hug.

"So your pregnant?" she asks.

"Yea"

"How long?"

"Nearly 2 months" I say picking Rosie up.

"Wow! Connors really excited he just left there." she says.

"Well I better go find him but I'll speak to you soon okay?" I say.

"Okay but give me a call if you need to!" she says as I walk of.

"Will do"
