I need to add some variety to these oneshots...
"Hiya!"
A slightly shorter boy approached you, falling into step next to you on your way to school. This was a daily occurrence, although you're not sure why - extroverts just have an ...impulse... to adopt introverts on sight.
"Y'know, I'm beginning to worry how much human contact you have outside of school - you're almost always ignoring me, is that normal? Or do I get special treatment?"
You glanced sideways at him, but kept silent.
"You know what? I bet you lost your voice. Maybe you can't speak, cuz... because... aha! Having those headphones in all the time has made you deaf!"
You snorted internally and shook your head lightly. It's a wonder why he keeps trying to start a conversation, he thinks you can't hear him. Which is partially true, since you often tune him out. But the headphones are never actually playing anything.
"Honestly, I just wanna know what a girl as beautiful as yourself would sound like. Think of it like field research!"
This time, you actually snorted, but played it off as a sneeze.
"Am I being to intruding? Do these one-sided convos make you uncomfortable? I heard being self aware is an attractive trait, so I figured I should try it out."
So I'm some kind of test dummy? You thought.
You arrived at the entrance to hell on Earth, and he gave a short wave before speeding off to god knows where. The rest of the day was a peaceful quiet, you read a book and drew some stuff.
Time skip, brought to you by hot duck from nyc
It was the last period of the day.
Art class.
This is one of two classes you had with him, but you needed to pass this subject with flying colours to get into your choice of art school.
He slid into the seat next to you, and paid close attention to the teacher's short lecture. The whole time, you were discreetly studying his posture, clothes, and lastly his face.
"... so, partner up and get started!"
You realised you should've paid more attention, but it was too late. I mean, it's not like you could travel back through time and warn yourself not to get distracted.
"So, mystery girl. Wanna partner up?"
Shite.
Now I actually have to socialise!
Where are those darn headphones when I need them?
You let slip a small 'sure', and a grin broke out on his face.
"You actually spoke to me!" He said, still smiling like an idiot.
"Yeah."
"Twice in one day?! Wow, I feel honoured."
You smiled the tiniest bit, but looked away to hide it.
"Ok, who's drawing who first?"
"Well, who's currently in the best lighting?"
He looked you over, and you did the same, thinking of how you could position him.
"Well, your side's pretty dull, so I think you should go first."
You directed him, playing around to get the right pose. He almost made you laugh a few times, purely because of how stupid he looked in his 'sexy pose'.
After sketching out your design, you got a photo of him so you could finish it off at home.
"I never did catch your name." You spoke quietly, hoping he was paying enough attention to hear. He looked at you wide eyed.
"A full sentence? This is the best. day. ever. Karma better not be after me!"
You brushed his last comment off, continuing.
"Its one of the few things you haven't said in your rambles."
"You - you listen to those?"
"Most of the time."
"But the headphones?"
"I have them into drive people away - why talk to someone who can't hear you?"
"In the hopes that they might start."
Your smile grew a bit.
"I'm (y/n)." You held your hand out, but instead of shaking it he just held onto it.
"Also, now you know what 'a beautiful girl such as myself sounds like'. Did I disappoint?"
He blushed a bit and apologised for flirting.
"You don't need to apologise, it just wasn't very self aware."
He grew redder, and abruptly stood up.
"Ineedtousethebathroom!" He exclaimed, jumping out of his seat and rushing off in a blur. A small, torn piece of paper floated down onto your desk, and as the bell tolled, you read it.
'Technically it's not speaking if it's over text' it read, with a phone number scrawled messily below it. You held onto the paper, and took a different way home - wouldn't want all this talking go to his head now, would we?
É voila, another badly written and very late one shot
I actually liked this one, but as I said at the top, I need to add some variety to these oneshots - I'm reusing characters that I've already done, so please do suggest/request stuff!
