All night Mia was fangirling over my encounter whilst I stared blankly at the face I felt I knew that was still paused on the computer screen. It was a tough night and eventually Mia fell asleep on my couch...again.
''Goodnight Mia'' I whispered as I stood at my door way with my finger on the lightswitched. I pushed it hard and the room clicked into darkness. Waddling over to my bed, I had flashbacks of todays events and a part of me wanted to do them all again. Finally, lights were out. I stared at the ceiling for about 30 minutes until I fell asleep, thinking of the Australian Stranger that had caught my attention.
10:30AM. My alarm rings singing into my ear. I opened my bedroom door to see Mia was already up. I don't know how such a small person could have so much energy. I was twice her size and yet I had less than half the energy. That miss Toser is loud, too. She had cleared the mess we made last night, with all the food and she noticed I was up.
''Hey Lewis, you better get to work'' , she looked at her watch, ''You have 28 minutes to get there''. At this moment, I noticed I was standing there shirtless and apologized. It's okay though, she knows I swing for the other team. She quickly smiled and she left (She obviously has such a busy life).
"Bye!"
"Adios, Mr. Irwin," Mia replied. I scowled at her and she closed the door behind her. Back in my room, I stripped down and hopped into the shower.
Whilst lathering myself, Ashton came back into my mind. Will I ever get to see the stranger again? How could someone so famous end up running in to me, barista Lewis? And why would he even flirt with me? He seems as straight as an arrow (He is in a band). I should probably just forget about him and stick to my single self that I have been a part of for, oh, so long.
Hopping out of the shower I slipped on khaki shorts and a button down black shirt. Then I slipped on my black socks and shoes. Glancing at the clock I realized that I have to be at work in
10 minutes.
I burst right out the door and turn right to reach the stairwell, take three steps at a time. It was working pretty well until my back foot got caught on a step, tripping me immediately. My hands barely broke my fall and I scratched my palms a tad bit. As I stood up I brushed off my shoulders and tried to keep my cool. Taking another stride, my luck took the best of me and I slipped on my own feet and fell to the ground again. I stayed there for a minute laughing to my self and how bad my luck is today. In the end I got up again and made it to my car flawlessly.
Back in Starbucks my day was rough. Multiple times I screwed up peoples orders and I just couldn't seem to spell anyone's names correctly. It was even worse that I had to wee non-stop. Since it was Friday, more people were in the shop therefore more employees were here to work. Around 1PM, I was getting ready to leave and messing around with my co-workers, even though they were all 10 years older than I. The door ring jingled and I turned around the meet the customer but slipped on a napkin on the ground. Geez Lewis, you need to get your gravity balanced.
I looked up to see messy curls peaking out the side of a beanie and Ashton's face full of worry. Groaning, I got up and smiled weakly at Ashton.
"Would you like the usual?" I asked bashfully.
"Yes, thank you Lewis," said the voice that haunted my dreams last night.
I turned away careful not to slip, as my luck is terribly failing me. Passion Fruit Tea was easy to make so I just took it slow but as I was about to give it to Ash my nerves got the best of me. Before I knew it pink juice was all over me.
In the background I could hear a chorus of laughter and I was afraid to look up at Ashton, but I was glad when I did. He had a slight smile on his face which was quickly replaced by his hand.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorr-" his apology was broke up by a fit of laughter.
"I could get you another drink?"
"No, no thanks I'm good but um, you're still kind of a mess. I wouldn't mind going back to yours to help you." Ashton offered. My mouth fell open.
"I don't think you need to do that, I'll be fi-"
"I insist," he said with a smile on his face.
Here I was, half covered in tea, holding the urge in to piss my pants, and my hands were skinned, yet I was agreeing to let Ashton Irwin come home with me.
