The hallway to his office seems endless, everything is dark with only a ceiling light who is flickering, egging me on. My shoes are the only thing making some noise, but the more I get closer, I can hear his god-awful voice speaking to someone, probably on the phone. He still sounds the same, deep voice that girls find so charming and apparently sexy. I shiver thinking how girls like this guy he's such a douche and treats girls wrong. When I arrive in front of his door, I don't have the courage to knock. What will happen in there? Why did he call me, I did such a horrible job today and now he wants to congratulate me? Or does he want to give me to another of his pals like last time? Before I could chicken out and just leave the building, I hear him calling me in.

"Melody... I know you're there. Just come in." I can hear his voice trying to be soothing, but it's making me more scared. I can feel myself starting to tremble and my vision becoming black, no, I've got to regroup myself. I'm a strong woman and I can do this.

I push the door open, and all the air left in my lungs left my body. There he was, in a navy suit with shiny Italian shoes, looking surprisingly nervous, he was fidgeting in his seat and was not looking at me straight on.

An awkward silence installed itself, neither of us were saying anything and if it was going to continue like that, I'm going to turn around and leave. When I was about to reopen the door, he cleared his throat, quite loudly if I might add.

"Take a seat Miss Mills." I lift an eyebrow and chuckle a bit. Miss Mills? Seriously?

I put on a cocky smirk on my face and sits down on the chair in front of his gigantic desk. And just to push him a little further, I put on my feet on his desk with a challenging smirk on my face. I want to see if he has the guts to fire me, which is what I'm hoping for.

His eyes widen at my gesture, but he doesn't say anything. Which is really shocking to me, three years ago he would've shoved if I drank from his favorite mug. I go even further and get myself off his chair and towards his mini fridge, this is where he keeps all his booze, I open it while keeping my eyes on him and take a mini bottle of vodka. He's looking at me as if he wants to rip that bottle out of my hands, but he doesn't move, so I open the bottle and drink the entire bottle. I don't even like vodka, I want to push his limits, but he doesn't say anything except gestures the chair in front of him. I regain my seat, with confusion, why isn't he firing me.

"I remember when I was your age, drinking on the job." He chuckles nervously, I still don't get why I'm here honestly.

"Spit it out Collin, what do you want from me." I sneer at him, I was starting to get furious, did he just ask me to come see him, for him to stare at me. "You have another buddy that wants to rape me?" I ask with a little tremble in my voice.

He jumps a bit at hearing my voice, and for me directly talking about the elephant in the room.

"NO!" He exclaims. "I want to talk about your work performance." He says shakily, I can see that the subject is uncomfortable for him. Why though? He brought me there and he knew what was going to happen.

"What do you want? You know I don't want to be near you." I respond aggressively, "I have other stuff to do, so get to the point."

"Listen Melody..." I can see him taking a deep breath, "I know it can be quite difficult for both of us to be in this workplace, but your parents begged me to take you, and my hands were tied. They're family and I had to respect their wishes..." I hear him continue to babble, but I stopped listening. I just wanted to laugh and cry in the same time, he treats my parents like family, but as always, I'm treated like trash. Why? What did I do to deserve that? As if this whole situation was hard for him? I'm the damaged one.
