Chapter 4

Previously on The Wolf Shifter's Destiny:

I reach the deer in no time and pounce before it can register what's happening, sinking my teeth into its neck. I wag my tail at the successful kill and claim my prize. I pick the deer up and trot back across the field, meeting Levi half way. He glares at both me and Eren. I sit in front of the short man, unfazed by his glare, feeling quite proud of myself. Hanji arrives with a giddy smile on her face, followed by Erwin.

"That was amazing!" She grins.

Eren slides off my back and looks at his superiors nervously.

"You're on cleaning duty for the rest of the week, Jeager" Levi scowls.

I growl at him, nudging Eren behind me protectively. He's unfazed by my display, so I take it a step further. I walk right up to the small man and snarl in his face, our noses only a centre meter apart. He continues to glare with his arms crossed.

'He's not backing down... challenge accepted'

I smirk and give his face a long, slobbery lick.

Y/N POV

A chorus of gasps fill the area as I pull away. I tilt my head in curiosity, looking towards the training field where the many gasps came from. Some Cadets eyes are wide with shock, while others struggle to contain their laughter.

'Did I do something wrong?'

I turn back, locking eyes with Levi's furious ones. He wipes the mixture of saliva and deer blood from his face in disgust. He looks about ready to pounce on me, however, any advances are halted when loud laughter reaches our ears. I look towards the source to see Hanji on the ground in a fit of giggles and snorts, possibly struggling to breathe. Erwin releases a deep chuckle with a look of amusement on his face. I look behind me to see Eren's reaction, only to find him biting his lip in a failed attempt at hiding his own amusement.

'So I didn't do anything wrong? These human are giving me mixed signals, I don't like it'

"I was under the impression that she wasn't fond of Levi, yet her behaviour suggests otherwise" Erwin says after regaining his composure. 

(A/N: Auto correct changed this to "I was under the impression that she wasn't fond of Levi, yet her behind suggests otherwise". 😂 I thought I'd let you in on some behind the scenes stuff, since this did cause me to have a little giggle.)

"Actually Sir, I think she may have done that to piss him off" Eren says quietly while trying to hide his face with his hair, but his comment was heard by the Commander.

He releases a deep laugh, placing a hand on Levi's shoulder. Levi tenses at the contact, but continues sending a deadly glare my way.

"There's no need to glare Levi. She a wolf, not a cadet. A glare will not faze her like it would for the soldiers" the commander states.

"You never know. She's very intelligent and understands our language. If she feels enough of a hostile aura, it may effect her to an extent" Hanji says after sobering up from her laughing fit.

'Ha! You wish. No human can make me fear them with a harmless glare' I snort at Hanji to express my amusement.

My eyes make contact with the short captain once again, only to find his glare as cold as ice. My eyes widen slightly as a shudder runs down my spine. I unwillingly take a step back and pin my ears to the back of my head.

'I take it back! The midget intends to kill me!'

My tail curls between my back legs and a quiet whimper forces it's way past my lips.

'How the hell can a human have such a dominant aura?!'

"I stand corrected" Erwin says in a shocked tone.

"Levi, you could use this to your advantage. Wolves often travel in packs that are lead by an Alpha, if you can claim dominance now, she'll have to give you her loyalty. The strongest leads the pack" Hanji informs in an excited tone.

I growl at Hanji in annoyance.

'How does she know that?! She's a Titan researcher, where did she find the time to research Wolves?!'

Levi takes a few steps forward while I take a few steps back.

'Don't tell me he's actually going to attempt it?!'

His glare hardens and my natural instincts force my head to bow submissively.

'No! Stupid instincts! This isn't right, a human should not be able to state dominance over a Wolf with only a glare! Especially a Wolf Shifter!'

My body lays flat on the ground with my head on top of my paws. Levi crouches in front of me and reaches a hand out, placing it comfortably on my head. My eyes close on their own as I give in, accepting him as my Alpha. The only thing running through my mind in this moment is...

'Well this is a shitty turn of events'

I'm sorry for the wait on all of my books in recent months. I've got a lot on my mind and motivation has been pretty low, but I will hopefully be getting chapters out more frequently soon.
